SE Natural Wood Walking Stick - ‎WS62

I'm a Master Naturalist and bought this for leading hikes with school kids. It's lightweight and just perfect for my 6' tall frame. The kids are fascinated with the compass and I'm always thrilled when they learn to read it.

This is one of the best and favorite purchases I have ever made. I was looking for a hiking stick and just didn't feel like the steel ones had that "nature" look and feel about them, so I did a search for wooden staffs and came across this hiking staff by SE. I am not a thru hiker, so as an amateur day hiker, I can say that this staff met my needs and surpassed my expectations. It is well built and has become an essential part of my hikes. I also added a few modifications to mine, such as paracord wraps, a leather cord with wooden beads, a survival whistle, my own paracord lanyard to suit my height and even a State meddallion. It looks and feels great! (You can watch a full review of my hiking staff on YouTube) I get a lot of comments from passers-by who are impressed by it. The compass and thermometer are small, as other people have commented, but I did not find it to be too difficult to read. The flower engraving is a beautiful touch. The steel point beneath the rubber cover has come in useful when hiking after a snowfall. It honestly feels strange now to go for a hike without my staff.

Stick is light weight yet durable and sturdy

This is a nice walking stick. It flexes a little, but good enough for what I needed. I put a 550 P cord for a handle. Absolutely worth the money.

Overall, nicely finished and good length. Unfortunately, gauges are small, too deeply inset, hard to read, and not squarely implanted. A little care would make this a better buy.

Excelente calidad para el precio, sin duda un producto artesanal. Poco práctico al no poder doblarse pero cumple con su función perfectamente.

Its lite weight and easy to hold for long walks. The compass works when you hold the stick juuussst right which is typical of the button compass. It would work in pinch though have a main compass of better quality and don't think of it as holding up for years - check it from time to time. Same for the thermomiter - its off by +5 degrees pretty consistently which means you can get an idea though I don't need it to know if I'm comfortable my body tells me that. A nice to know if you journal or record parts of your hikes.Don't hike without essentials - a knife, a lighter, a water source (canteen or bottle), a compass, tissue, and in my case, a walking stick. They truely do increase your stamina over longer hikes - and a nice lite walking stick is preferred over heavy. This one is that.
