Dechra Dermallay Oatmeal Shampoo for Dogs Cats & Horses 12 fl oz, NA

Our vet recommended this for any breed of dog/cat even horses. Anyhow, we recently adopted a Frenchie (hence the cutie photo) and his fur is thicker and tougher than our doodles and this softens him up like a charm! Besides this working to make fur softer it has many added benefits which were explained by our Vet. She said this works wonders for dogs with high allergies. She recommended we use this as a wash for our dogs paws after taking them for a walk. She says unlike humans that pick up airborne allergies dogs pick everything up through their paws. So far this has been excellent and she even said this is better that pumping allergy meds on your furry friend. So no meds is always a plus on my book. The fragrance is light and doesn’t have harsh chemicals or perfumes.

Have been using this shampoo for the last few months. To me it doesn't have a strong scent but it does smell nice; a light fragrance of apple. Works nicely for my dog's skin; she has allergies so I always have to be careful not to exacerbate any flare-ups and this is the shampoo that works for me. Cleans her coat / skin nicely and surprisingly she smells apple-nice for several weeks (big plus); and she's not itchy afterwards (double big plus).

While the shampoo does it's jod cleaning the dogs up, using bar soap would work just as good.. It's pretty potent soap for smaller breed dogs I think. This stuff stripped all the 'good'oils from my dogs' fur and skin so much so I had a groomer bath, shave off all the fried coat and bath/rinsed him w oatmeal shampoo that helped a great deal. Notice in the instructions it's fit for washing horses!

I ordered this product as a recommendation from my vet due to my dobermans skin issues. This has drastically helped his hair without really striping his skin of the essential oils. It doesn’t have a very strong smell and the smell definitely doesn’t last too long like normal shampoos. The shampoo itself does lather very well. I would definitely recommend this product if you are needing to bath a dog multiple times a month due to an underlying akin issue bc it does not have the harsh chemicals like most shampoos have.

This is the only shampoo I can use on my shih Tzu. She has sensitive skin. It’s great
