The Right to Look: A Counterhistory of Visuality

I bought this book specifically because I needed info about Francisco Oller for a paper I was writing. The book had very good insights about his painting "El Velorio". I am trying to downsize my library since my books take up too much space so I might sell it back and get the kindle version, because I still want to read the rest of it.

Absolutely brilliant counter-history of visuality. Great reading for advanced humanities students. Mirzoeff makes strong arguments on his subject matter with wonderful clarity. After having read some of the most unreadable texts on visuality, this was engaging, erudite, compelling and easy to read.
