Solid timepiece from Timex
Style: T49905 - blk/blk/brown leather bandEasy to read, watch face is well laid out and I like the contrast of the numbers against the background. It's been a while since I had a watch with Indiglo so it was nice to see that again. However, with the white hands, it's a little tough to read in the dark when the backlight is on, though it does have glow in the dark hands.Watch has a heavy, quality feel to it. Well constructed, like it may take a knock or two. Much beefier than any of the previous Timex watches I've owned. I was concerned about the crown size and it hitting the back of my hand in certain positions but it seems to be fine. I feel it but it's not nearly as prominent as I thought. If you have bad eyes like me, it may be tough to read without glasses on.The band fits well after oiling the leather --- cuts down drastically on break-in time. It always seems like I'm right in between two of the settings so oiling will help the band stretch a little in the tighter position. The color is pretty light fresh out of the box and the thread contrast is pretty retro. I found that oiling it also helped sort of detune that a little bit. I'm always one of those types that has to mod something the second I take it out of the box or it just isn't going to work. Oiling the leather band was the trick. I was on the fence and considering ordering a different one until I took a few minutes and hand rubbed some leather oil in to get it much darker and more pliable. Super comfortable. And thick, too. Seems like it will hold on for a few years.I bought a "used" one for a slightly discounted price -- in this economy, ffs!? Arrived just fine, intact, no signs of having been worn, just out of its original box and returned. Arrived in a factory box on factory wrist holder for the band, instructions were included, and arrived with a fresh battery installed -- just need to remove the tab to engage time and start the watch. Also, register the lifetime warranty. You'll likely never need to anything other than change the battery but if you ever do, they'll fix it for free. Also, I am not affiliated with Timex in any way. I'm just hopped up on the watch I just got and feel like writing a nice review about it.Highly recommended watch and happy to replace that $60 smartwatch. I was ready to get back to a real time piece.Nice choice!

Great Outdoor Watch for the Price – Stylish and Functional
I really liked the design of this watch. I bought it specifically for outdoor use, and I’m very pleased with its size and the strap. The strap has a clever little button that keeps the excess part from dangling, which is a nice touch. Overall, I’m very happy with the watch, especially considering the price I paid. The only downside is that it doesn’t have luminescence, so it’s hard to read the time at night. However, I was aware of this before purchasing, and since my main purpose is to use it outdoors during the day, it’s not a big issue for me. Great watch for the price!

Difficult to read
I'm a big fan of Timex watches. I have 3 other Expedition models. They are cheap, stylish and functional. This purchase was the most expensive one yet. I wanted a chronograph style because nice to have a timer in the kitchen when I don't have phone handy.....and they look cool. But on this model, the hour and minute hands are the same color as the background markings making it hard to read at a glance. Why are they not painted orange like the sub dial indicators? The case is pretty thick too, but even at this price.....it is not an expensive watch, so can let that slide. I did end up keeping however. Again, I like the brand. Will probably get a classic Waterbury somewhere down the road.

Highly Satisfied! Love It!
I started off with the Timex Weekender. I love that watch, and the simplicity of that watch. However, that thing was LOUD. I'd have to shove my wrist under the pillow at night to block out the ticking. The ticking became more and more irritating so I began to search for a new watch and landed on this one. I have a Fossil watch and some other nice watches and I really like this one the best. The indiglo is awesome. That's one of my main reasons for staying with Timex after the whole Weekender debacle -I hated to lose the functionality of the indiglo. Just a few things worth noting, but otherwise this is a great watch if you're considering it:1. The second hand is located in the bottom middle of the chronograph. It's tricky at first, because the large hand that looks like it would be for the second hand is actually for the timer. There's nothing wrong with the watch, it's just an adjustment that you have to get used to. I don't use the second hand on any watch for that many things, so it wasn't a big deal to me. However if you're someone who uses the second hand a lot, then you might want to take that into consideration.2. When I ordered this watch I was worried that I'd have trouble reading it at a glance because the numbers don't go from 1-12. I thought I might have to look at it longer than just a glance in order to read the time, but this hasn't been an issue either. I don't have any issues reading it day or night. The hands glow really well and seem to retain their brightness pretty well. The hour and minute hands are the only ones that glow - the chronograph hands and second hands to not glow.3. I've had this watch just a day over two months and the leather band is wearing pretty well. The leather loops that guide and hold the excess watch band after you put it on are looking somewhat stressed. I'm not sure they'll last much longer with daily wear. This isn't a deal breaker though because one can always get a new band for it.4. The back of the watch doesn't have any screws - it's a screw on type that is found on nicer watches. I have a Fossil watch with a similar back and I needed a new battery. Long story short, Walmart and Macy's were unable to change the battery due to the type of back. I ended up having to go to a jewler and $25 later, I had a new battery and they gave it a complete overhaul. It looks good, but $25 for a new battery was sort of steep. Keep that in mind as you look at watches if you're not wild about getting them serviced like that. All in all, I love this thing. I get several compliments on it, and find it easy to read. Highly recommended!
