Ge 26191 Duplex Wall Jack Adapter (White, 4-Conductor)

It's a fantastic solution for when you need to connect the computer in different locations of the same room, and you only have one jack on the wall. It works very well, I didn't noticed any failure regarding connection stability. And it deserves the fifth star because of it's male connector, that attachs firmly on the wall. In this case, my wife has a notebook always turned on, but over the TV. A network cable goes from the wall to the PC, behind the furniture. But when she decides to sit down on the couch to work on her PC, is tedious to move it along with the cable. The solution: this RJ45 splitter allows to connect a second cable going to the couch (attached to the wall) and have an extreme at hand, so once sit, she just plug the cable and has connectivity again. Wifi? It's an option, but nothing like LAN cable to do heavy work.

Two for one ! It works

Receive the jack and installed in in seconds. It works great and there are no problems. It took care of my need to connect two phone devices (phone and fax) to my router.

Inexpensive and reliable quality product. One thing I missed (complately my fault) is that this will work only when connected into a wall socket. It does not work as a splitter from a telephone line cable. That is what I had originally bought it for but soon realized that this wasn't what I was looking for. Found another use for us in a different room and it has been working just fine.

This item, Ge 26191 Duplex Wall Jack Adaptor (WHite, 4-conductor) was ordered in WHITE but I received a BEIGE adaptor. Since it works, I'll keep it despite it not matching the wall plate or the electrical outlet. At $4, it's honestly not worth my time and effort to return it.

Works great. I can now used my landline and fax machine on the same line.

There was a plug in my apartment and I didn't know what it was for. Someone told me that back in the old days phones plugged directly into the wall because Alexander Grahm Bell invented phones before Al Gore invented the internet so there was no Vonage or Skype. Also there were no iPhones so if you wanted to call your mom while you were at your friends house you had to borrow his phone instead of just bringing your own. And what if she wanted to call you? I don't know what would happen because your phone was at home so she would just be like calling herself. Anyway, I ordered this and plugged it in. Now I have two of these mysterious receptacles.

Dead on arrival! One would think a simple dual modular jack would be fine right out of the package! Had to resort to an old jack I then found in my spare parts box! Fortunately, Amazon made good for the item...
