Works great!
It was a cool crisp February afternoon when I heard a gentle knock on my front door. By the time I got to the door and opened it I had just a glance at the big brown truck leaving my driveway. A quick scan of the front porch led to the discovery of a brown cardboard box with a happy Prime smile emblazoned on the side. It was the big day! Only two days after placing my order, my new Stihl 3/8” 2 in 1 Easy File Chainsaw Chain Sharpener had been delivered! I headed out to my shop to try it out on my Stihl chainsaw, with which, only a few days ago I carelessly tried to sever a rock that was lying out of sight, just on the other side of the fallen pine tree I was working on. After that unfortunate episode my Stihl 361 chainsaw was pretty-much useless.I was happy to see the unit was expertly packaged and came with its own protective clear plastic pouch. I marveled at how well the sharpener was made. From the quality files to the sturdy polymer handles that are embossed with idiot proof graphics designed to help me handle my sharpening chores. I secured my saw, and started in. After a look at the graphics, I quickly got the hang of restoring my severely damaged cutters to pristine razor-sharp form, and at the same time lowering the depth gauge. A few minutes later I was out at the aforementioned tree standing in a pile of sawdust with a very large grin on my face! I just love a quality tool that produces quality results! The Stihl 2 in 1 Easy File Chainsaw Sharpener restored my damaged chain to factory fresh cutting ability in a mater of minutes! I bought another one for my smaller saw and I would recommend this sharpener in a heartbeat!

Does what it should
I have one of these for my 325 chain, i bought it at the same time i bought my new saw at the Stihl dealer. I have not received this one yet but I assume it will work just like the one I already own.I bought this Stihl brand 2-in-1 sharpener because I know it works the way it was designed to. I do not know if the other less expensive brands do the job that this one does? This uses 2 round files and 1 flat file. It will only go together 1 way correctly so if the opening end wont close easily and neatly than you got a file in the wrong way. The instructions wont tell you in the detail that I am right now. It took me about 15 minutes to figure it out the 1st time. When I get this new one from Amazon it will take me less than 1 minute to put it together and use it. Once you get it right you are a journeyman and will be able to show your friends how easily and great it works.Using it, it can set on your chain 4 different ways but only 1 way will be correct. It sharpens the teeth and will also lower the raker to the right height at the same time. This works for me! Without this wonderful tool you must lower the raker in a 2nd step.I clamp my bar (and saw) in a vice at home so this works easily. If I needed to resharpen using this tool while sitting on my tailgate out in the forest, (or on a log) im certain that I will be glad that i had this tool instead of a cheap off brand sharpener. I have already recommended this to more than 1 friend. The bench-vice is the easy way so do your best to get a vice for your home workshop or garage. I use a 4" good quality brand vice, a 6" might even be more secure.Another good piece of advise is order a new spare chain when you order this. That way you have 2 sharp chains when you head out AND you can sharpen BOTH when you get home in the warmth of your home work shop. This tool is only for a 3/8 P" chain. I had to buy another separate tool for my 325 chain.I hope that this will help someone.

Best manual chain sharpening system
FInally a manual system that works perfect! Its repeatable, consistent and super easy to use. This system sharpens the cutting teeth and adjusts the depth gauge in one step.Ive tried all the different 'flavors' of manual chain saw sharpeners and never ever got consistent results- Bottom line, this sharpener REMOVES all the guesswork out of sharpening your chain and if you can simply keep the angle that is embossed on the guides - it WILL result in a like new sharp chain.I use a permanent marker to set my start point and follow the guide marks on the system - its crazy easy, consistent and critically, repeatable all the way around the chain. We had lightening drop a huge oak on our property recently (over 100' tall) and consisted of 6 trunks. Limbed them, and then cut them into manageable lengths for the tractor to move. I have an Echo 539 Timberwolf with a 20" bar - Using this system during the cut work was FAST, and the cut shavings were nice large flakes, no vibration during cutting or jumping, and the saw dropped through the largest of cuts with ease and stayed steady and straight. Crazy sharp and it holds the edge a good long while. Must buy -

Well worth it
I was going to buy a far more complex attachment sharpener, but saw the reviews for this and figured I’d give it a try.Works great on my Husky saw, which is a bit underpowered compared to a Sthil, so sharpness really helps.I suspect I’ll still use a dremel every now and then but this will be my daily go to.

Works well and quickly
I looked at a load of other fancy (and some pricey) ways to sharpen a chainsaw. This one seemed the most straightf forward and did not require power. Stihl has a great reputation and this file system showed the usual Stihl quality. Amazon has knockoffs for half the price, but I'm not up for trading $25 for problems. Thsi one just works. Took about 5-8 minutes to sharpen a 16" bar and a little longer for a 20" bar. Very relaxing (like cleaning your driveway with a powerwasher) and it's easy to store (takes up little room) and seeems like for my needs it will last a long time. I was bringing my chains local to have them sharpened, but when he went from $15 to $25 I said, "I think I'll give it a try myself". As you would expect, different sized chains take different size files.
