I am in love...with an organizer!
I just purchased this about a month ago, and I already do not go anywhere without it! There are tons of uses for this (I may have to buy a ton more) and they come in all sizes, but I've found this one to be ideal for carrying around in a back pack or messenger bag. As for the person who says this adds too much bulk and weight, to each his own, but I just don't see how that could be. For one, the thing weighs practically nothing. Second, although it is not paper thin, it is by no stretch of the imagination thick. In reality, it probably has to be the thickness that it is. Once you start strapping things down, particularly bulkier items, there's going to be some strain on the backing. If the backing were too thin, it would likely start to bend with the strain of the elastic. I've currently got an iPad power adapter as the thickest item, which is pretty thick considering the size of the Grid-It. However, there is no evidence of strain at all. Before finding this online (and I have no idea how I found it, but I sure am glad I did), I was keeping multiple sized charging cables, a USB power adaptor, a USB battery back up, earbuds, and a few other items in my back pack everywhere I traveled. If I switched to my messenger back, half the time I forgot to grab the specific item that I needed. Almost all the time, I'd have to rummage through the back pack to find everything that had fallen to the bottom and gotten tangled in the various cords. Now, everything is kept very neatly in place, and if I switch bags, I just switch out the Grid-It and everything goes with me.There is no way to rearrange the grid of the elastic, but they've got it arranged so that you can fit pretty much anything into it. Just spend a little time getting creative with positioning and you'll be good to go. All of the elastic has rubber built into it (visible as light grey lines through the elastic in the pictures), which does a fantastic job of holding slippery metal or plastic items firmly in place. The elastic is relatively tight, so while it can stretch to hold bigger items, it can also securely hold smaller items in the bigger spaces (if you happen to have more small items that you need to secure).I know this sounds like a solution to a fairly minor problem, and I feel a little silly going on about it. However, it is a frequent problem, and it's annoying. So, while it is technically a solution to a minor problem, it's the perfect solution and yes, I'm in love with an organizer.

Love these things!
The Grid-It organizer system is so simple and so elegant. It's a genius idea that really has lasting power. These are made available a variety or sizes and colors.Pros:+ Conveniently switch all your essentials from one bag to another with the Grid-It+ Stores almost anything you can imagine with a multitude of configurations+ Durable elastic bands hold items in place+ AFFORDABLE! Some organizers charge a premium to just carry your stuff. These are incredibly reasonable in price! It's easy to buy more than one without suffering a financial recession.++ GREAT customer service from Cocoon! I had one of the bands rip from normal wear and when I contacted Cocoon they send a replacement right away. Really nice of them. :-)*Customer service is always a big point to me, because items will eventually fail or be flawed. Companies that help and support their consumers are doing themselves a favor by building good-will and a trusting relationship. I've had some companies with bad customer service, and others with great customer service. Guess which ones I repeat shop and which ones I avoid?Cons:- The color options are stuck in black and gray. I wish they'd release some bolder colors for spunkier organizers. ;-)- It tends to bend if you stress it too much. This obviously makes sense, but I'd like to to be slightly more sturdyWhat I carry on mine:Right now I'm using the larger size (8" x 12", gray)...MyCharge Hub 9000mAh portable battery chargerKinivio BTE40 Bluetooth HeadsetSmall watch case (I use for things like spare contacts and eyedrops)Apple Lightning USB Cable Retractable (Cybertech brand)MicroUSB cable with 30pin connector (OPSO brand)Three pens8GB and 64gb USB Flash DrivesSterling Lock with Keys attachedAll of this fit snugly and comfortably on my Grid-It. When I have to switch bags I just swap back and forth. It's so simple and easy, I love it!

Good size but lacks back pocket
I have been trying to have an organized purse, and had used pouches as well as a larger version of this organizer. There is always the risk of items being out of sight and out of mind when they are in pouches.Grid-it works well for almost everything and I like how they can be organized almost like mood boards that can then be “filed” in the bag - one Grid It for daily essentials (chapstick, battery, usb cable, pen, hand sanitizer, SAK and a small torch), another Grid-It for laptop stuff (mouse, charger, cables, surface pen) and another for make-up kit for gym etc. All I need to do everyday is to grab the Grid-Its I need for the day and put that into my bag with my wallet, phone and keys. Awesome.I got this particular Grid It for my everyday essentials and I wanted one that will fit into my Tom Bihn small Cafe Bag (which is my smallest daily carry). It is the right size for that purpose. My only criticism is that it doesn’t come with a back zippered pocket as stated in the description and I would have liked to have that capacity to hold some flat items like a small notebook.

Effective and Convenient
Arguably one of our best travel purchases! This fits seamlessly in the top of my camera/tech backpack (carry-on bag), making it easy for me to access any cords I need without them ever getting lost or tangled with each other. The elastic bands are balanced just enough as well to offer tighter holds for smaller/skinnier cords and looser for bulkier cords. As shown in the photo, it easily holds both our watch chargers, my laptop cord, our fire stick and remote, an external hard drive cord, and headphone charger with space to add our phone chargers when needed.10/10 purchase
