Works great - device detection, compatibility, separate on/off switches
This 4 port USB 3 powered hub works great for all USB devices such as USB drive, keyboard , mouse, audio interface, drawing tablets, MIDI devices, USB ethernet adapter, etc.So far all devices get detected immediately. I had issues with other cheaper USB hubs (such as NAIO-CHAO with on/off switches) with detection of some devices (audio interface in my case) needing reconnect or switching USB port off/on every time computer started and even with that drawing tablet kept getting unrecognized USB device error. So there seems to be differences in USB hubs on what is used inside as some unknown brands don't perform consistently and can have compatibility issues.Comparatively this is not less expensive device but works flawlessly and highly recommend as a great choice for needing 4 ports with on/off switches. I had similar good result with other USB hubs (without on/off switches) from brands, tp-link and BYEASY.Even though this hub works without power adapter as well for all my devices so far, connecting included power adapter is a good choice to cover all power drawing scenarios and help laptop battery charge last longer.I haven't done speed testing but practically seems no different than other USB 3 hubs. This being 4 port USB hub for portability, USB cable length is fine for most use like next to laptop or wish to be longer in other use. Detachable cable may be helpful in that case. Or use additional extension cable.

Short USB cable, but made up for by price to quality.
I've purchased two of these USB hubs over the course of the past 6 months or so, and so far they work really well. I like the fact that you can turn on and off the different USB ports on the device to easily turn on and off devices. I use it to connect up with a joystick and throttle so that I can turn them off when I'm not using them to avoid controller interference in other games that I don't want to use them with. It's much easier and less stressful on the plugs than having to unplug and replug them every time I'd like to use them. When the ports are turned on, they have a faint blue glow from the LEDs underneath so you can easily tell if the port is on or off. They don't seem to be super bright like other items I've used in the past which is a plus.I have not tested throughput or connection speeds through this device, however using a joystick and throttle through the device I have not noticed any input latency, everything registers immediately. One downside to this device for my personal use was the (very) short USB cable, but I could see this hub being used with a more portable device such as a laptop where extra cable would get in the way. I picked up a USB 3.0 extension cable to hook this to my desktop machine so that I could put it on my desk for easy reach. The buttons wouldn't be very accessible on a desktop machine in most situations without one. I won't knock a star for it though, as this is likely due to the way I personally wanted it to be setup.Overall the device seems solid, and I use the on/off buttons on an almost daily basis and they have not failed yet in 6 months, which was one of the worries I originally had when purchasing.

Excellent USB3.0 hub!
This USB3 hub works perfectly! The per-port power buttons are physical switches that turn off power to any device connected. This is very handy when you want to complete cut off power to devices not in use like cameras, microphones, drives, Wifi & LAN adapters. Included power supply has enough power to run anything that operates on USB power. Solid choice for a USB hub!

Works, had some occasional issues setting up. But now I know how to get around them. 4/5 works, but not the best.
Here is my review of the Sabrent 4-Port USB 3.0 Hub and 5V/2.5A power adapter Sabrent 4-Port USB 3.0 Hub with Individual Power Switches and LEDs included 5V/2.5A power adapter (HB-UMP3):My laptop has only 2 usb3.0 ports, and I have a plethora of devices that I have to plug in. Ethernet to usb, external hard drive, mouse, flash drives. And I really needed something to fit my needs. I found many devices that I thought would fit my needs, some looked tad nice than this one (with brushed aluminum and sleeker designs), but this was the best one I could find that had a power adapter. One main concern I had was powering my external hard drive. I didn't want it to run on low power, which can damage the drive. And having multiple devices plugged into one port doesn't supply them all with the right amount of power. So this one it is!I received the item from my residence hall's front desk (go college!). Prime 2 day shipping worked like a breeze (unlike last time...). As soon as i received the box, i turned it on its side to carry it with one hand: and I could feel the contents of the box shift and smack the bottom of the box. My heart sank. I bought this with the UTechSmart Uranus mouse (review here: ). Opening returning to my room I opened it and found that they had only but bubble wrap between the two items, and not around the two items. What idiot packed my box?!?!?! I was hoping nothing would be DOA because of shipping. The actual box for this was fairly nice. Sleek black cardboard, well wrapped parts. Came with the hub and attached usb cord and a nice long power adapter. I opened it up and plugged it in! I decided to try all my items one at a time. First the Ethernet. Plugged it in and... nothing. Tried different ports, tried turning on and off the buttons. Nothing. Unplugged the hub, replugged, and still nothing. Losing hope I unplugged everything, replugged, and it worked?! After further testing with various devices, I think I believe it is this. If you unplug without ejecting the hub, my CPU doesn't like it and has issues reconnecting the devices later. So after a small heart attack it works.Pros:power adapter (5'8")4 USB3.0 portsbuttons to turn items on and offworks well with all my various devicesspeed seems to be doing fine as wellCons:Only comes in blueLEDs only light up the bottom half of the buttonsports are super tight, all devices have to be forced in and outUSB cord is a tad short. Would have liked to see a few more inches on itBit finicky with disconnecting and reconnectingOverall:Has lots of pros and cons. Cons are a few things that I can work around, so I am happy it works. For 16$ it’s not bad. Will edit if something comes up later. Due to the issues I've had, only 4/5 stars for the product. If I could give amazon a separate rating, it would probably be 2/5 stars. (one star up from my last shipment)
