GREAT CHEAP DRESSER PROP FOR STAGE OR FILM!!!
Anyone who doesn't assemble or attempt to use it will believe you purchased an authentic cheap dresser giving your production that high budget look. (NOTE: PLEASE DO NOT ATTEMPT TO USE AS A REAL DRESSER)The finish looks like real laminate put is actually weak paper with a wood design painted on it. The nice looking metal looking pull handles in the picture will arrive looking like the flimsy plastic that they are. All the extra metal was put into fasteners that are mentioned nowhere in the instructions.Though assembly is unnecessarily complicated and the instructions are specific where they don't need to be and vague when it really matters, disassembly is a breeze. Simply pull the drawers out and attempt to carry them by them by the handle to have most of the pieces fall apart. The main structure of the dresser needs nothing more than a gentle breeze to reduce it back to its individual parts. It even includes a safety bracket to secure the dresser to a wall incase some of your actors are a little dim. But I wouldn't depend on that too much as even with a child actor the safety bracket would likely remain attached to the wall while the dresser crumbles on top of them.Sauder Beginings passes the savings right on to you by hiring engineering school dropouts to design their products rather than those over priced real engineers. It is recomended that you disassemble the dresser before moving it. Even though it is not made of solid wood they somehow made it weigh so much you would think it it was made of concrete.

Not too bad for the price
This dresser is not extremely difficult to assemble, took about an hour using directions from package. While it is not top of the line, it will work for our needs, It can't be lifted by holding the top & side, or the top comes apart. There is an opening down the center of the back, it doesn't hurt the usefulness of the dresser, just a little odd to have that open. It does allow for air circulation in the drawers which is fine with me since it is mostly made of particleboard and chip board, and has a degree of odor to it that needs to dissipate. The drawers cannot be overloaded, due to the material the bottoms of the drawers are made from, so if you put a reasonable amount of normal weight clothing in them, it should not be a problem. The drawers will not hold many very heavy items. The outside is acceptable, it is not finished wood, just veneer, but it will do for the storage I bought it for.

Good for temporary use, but strongly suggest not using it for long term, or more than a year.
This is good temporary furniture, but nothing you want to rely on for long term. It is made of particle board and held together with screws and plastic hardware. The laminate is extremely thin and has a 0.2mm gap on all edges making it look like low end budget motel furniture. The drawers hang on plastic sliders which are only held by two screws each, so you can expect them to bow in time. The screws are also not exact either, at least the ones that hold the fronts of the drawers are not. Several were smaller than what was described making the sturdiness of the drawers questionable. The drawer handles are made of plastic which have marbling from the casting process, which adds to the cheap look. Again, this is good furniture for temporary use. I bought this as I needed a drawer chest to hold me over while I save up for permanent furniture. It will also do fine for kids, teens, and freshmen college students. Just don't expect it to look like nice furniture as the stock photo portrays.

Will add 1 more star if it turns out to be durable and stays in good shape after 3 months
Just finished assembling the unit. Looks exactly as the picture here,so no issues there. Will add 1 more star if it turns out to be durable and stays in good shape after 3 months. Just a piece of advice, opt for professional assembly. I didn't but wish I should have. Would have avoided 4.5 hours of labor and 3 pretty big blisters on my fingers.Mind you, I am not a novice in furniture assembly and have assembled tons of IKEA stuff during my master studies back in Europe, but this was something else entirely. If you are a daredevil and still plan to assemble it on your own, read the instructions carefully. There are 12 pages of instructions with 3-4 simple instructions per page. Read all simple instructions on that page before doing anything because many times they mention in instruction #3 of that page to be careful about something you did as per instruction #1 on that page. Adds a bit more of labor if you need to redo something.

If you can avoid putting it together yourself.. Its worth it!!
I brought these for my sons and I must say I was OVERWHELMED at how many screws there were! I used a muffin tin to separate the screws because there is so many different kinds. The instructions are very clear and gives you hints to avoid doing it wrong so I appreciated that BUT it took me about 4 hours to assemble just one. Some of the holes weren't aligned right and I think I was either missing some or used them wrong because I ended up coming short on the drawers.Other than it being time consuming.. It looks really nice and clean. The wood is thi ck wood so I am hoping it will last awhile. But as the title says, if you can have someone put it together for you.. Please do because I have a lot of patience but this was entirely too much for me to do!

Assembly is not hard if you follow and read the instructions. It does take a bit of time fif your not used to building furniture. The material is cheap, chips and scratches easy and the slides are plastic so I would suggest putting heagy things or having a drawer filled with clothes. There is a gap in the back of the dresser the 2 back pieces of the wood are small and has a 2 inch gap all the way down. However when it was finished it did look nice and the drawers are easy enough to slide in and out so in that aspect it fulfills its purpose. Would not recommend for children, it might not last the stuffing and banging shut of drawers. For the price (its was on sale for $89.99 but I've seen it go as high as $130) it's definitely not worth it.
