Mesh Crown Safari Men's Sun Hat, 3" Brim, Adjustable Chin Cord, UPF (SPF) 50+ Sunhat Protection

This is a Christmas gift for my husband. He has had his last identical hat for 15 years. He loves it sooo much and wears it constantly. It is really showing its age. So I know he will be surprised and absolutely love his new hat.

I am a asphalt paving contractor. In Virginia. I usualy wear a straw hat. When i sweat it would soak the hat and make it soggy. Way lighter than a straw hat, very comfortable. You can wear it all day. This hat wicks moisture to the hat brim and runs out. The mesh on top allows cool air to flow through, you can feel it. The front of the brim is the correct length to protect your face, yet does not block your vision. The back brim curves downward and gives sun protection to your neck. The sides sort of curl up, due to the wire in the outside of the brim. So not the best sun protection from the side, but more than adequate. It keeps its shape under extream use. This is a durable hat. I have received complements on its looks. I removed the neck lanyard, it just bothers me. Panama Jack put some thought into this and came out a winner. It camc safely shipped in its own box. 5 Stars for sure. I hope this helps.

Had to order 3 times for my husband before getting the right size. Otherwise, perfect for hot days when you want coverage. Not as wide as other hats on the side so for sure need to wear extra sun protection and reapply on sides. Needed this for hot hikes. Most wide brim hiking hats with strap have better side coverage but aren’t as breathable.

I am always worried about buying hats online. Are they going to fit, are they going to be shipped in good condition, etc. However, my older safari hat (this same make and model) was starting to disintegrate, so I decided it was time to buy a new one, and with shopping limited due to COVID, I decided to just buy one online anyways. The hat itself has a nice large brim that is made of a very light weight, breathable material, the best on the market. It covers the neck area well which is important if you are out in the sun a lot and my neck has not gotten sunburnt yet while wearing this hat. The mesh on the top is breathable, but I do feel like these hats let in a little too much sun, but I was going to get another one just because they are great hats all around. This hat is great (a 5 star product). It is breathable so that you don't get too sweaty, and looks nice. However, shipping made this hat unwearable. Unfortunately I had to return this hat. One of the great features of the hat is that it has a wire around the brim which help make it keep its shape and look nice. The hat was shipped in a plastic bag, folded in half. Because it was shipped this way, the metal wire was bent. You cannot easily reshape these once they are bent like that. It is one of their best features, and is was not shipped well and therefore ruined in transport. If I knew it would not be shipped like this, I would exchange it. However, because of the way it was shipped, it just needs to be returned.

Does the job keeping sun off one’s head. Makes the wearer look quite handsome!

For the cost of this hat you would think they hired an experienced designer. Claim is made that it is SPF-50 hat, some of it is, but around the brim is a mesh that one would hope was aligned in a way like louvers to keep the sun out. The answer is no, if you have short hair you will get sun burned around the brim and have a nice red ring around your head after coming back from your fishing trip. Quite an oversight in the design. If you want a hat for full sun protection this is not it.

Very stylish and durable. Unisex that looks good on men or women. Very well made.
