The Schwalbe Ultremo DD Clincher Tire has been designed with your favorite wheels in mind. That is to say, this is the type of practical tire you can put on your favorite lightweight wheels without thinking you are being sacrilegious in installing some crude winter training tire on your prize Zipps or Reynolds. Because, letAAAs face it, we all prefer riding our best wheels whenever we can -- itAAAs just more fun. That said, we can hardly risk flats every ride. That's why we like the blend of durability and lightness of the Ultremo DD Tire. The DD stands for Double Defense which indicates that Schwalbe employs both their Snakeskin fabric protection from bead to bead and their HD Ceramic Guard as puncture protectors. The Snakeskin protects the sidewalls and the HD ceramic belt is for the middle of the tire to protect against more traditional glass and sticker pin pricks. It's made with a radial casing construction that allows the tire to flex better and absorb the irregularities of the road surface. The radial design also produces much less friction resulting in much longer tread life. The Schwalbe Ultremo DD Clincher Tire has an exceptional weight to durability ratio that will impress even the most finicky weight weenie. It's available in Black in 700c x 23 and 700c x 25.Product FeaturesType: clincherMaterial: rubberSize: 700 c x 23 mm, 700 c x 25 mmBead: Foldable: yesWeight: 228 gRecommended Use: cyclingManufacturer Warranty: limited

Very sticky
I bought a set of these to replace some worn out Michelin Pro4 Service Corse tires - nice tires but the profile causes them to wear very quickly. The first thing I noticed about the Schwalbe's is that they are quite sticky. Compared to the Michelins they were also very easy to install. The went on to the rim with relative ease where as it was a bit of a struggle with the Pro 4's. One thing I did find strange is that they are very skinny for 700x25. Fully inflated they actually measured 22mm wide. This is also quite different from the Pro 4's which are quite a bit wider - I forgot to measure them before I deflated them but I would be they were on the + side of 25mm.I just took them on a quick 40 mile ride in and I have to say, even though they were skinnier than the previous tires, the ride felt a little bit more compliant. It felt as though these tires absorbed the little bumps and cracks and provided a bit smoother ride. Rolling resistance felt very good - about the same as the Pro 4's but it was very windy so it was kind of hard to judge. Handling was excellent in the dry. There are some very fast and tight corners along my regular ride and I can say that the steering felt quick and the grip was top notch.Overall I'm very satisfied with these - time will tell how well they wear but I fell pretty confident that I'll get more than 400 miles out of them.

Mixed feelings, looks like a great tire
Put Ultremo DD on my training bike rear rim (Shimano rs20). Had a tube exploded during 70 miles ride. Since then all is good so I blame myself for messing up with tube replacement before the ride. My front wheel runs with Conti 4 seasons (23cm) and honestly I don't feel difference between 4 seasons and this tire (which is 25 cm). In any case very pleased with the riding, comfortable one.Update - switched to new Shimano c24 wheels, put Ultremo DD 25cm. Still mixed feelings, went through great races with these (couple of 70.3 Ironmans included), 500 miles,2 flats so far, pinched, tiny holes, releasing air slowly. Good grip, speed and weight though, for sure. Would keep as racing set but consider switching to Conti 4 seasons as main training option.

I'm so stupid. Does Schwalbe think we are blind?
NOT a 25 mm tire.If you want a 23 mm tire, get the 25. It's what they put in the box. Box says 25 the tire says 23.I guess I should have ordered a 28 mm because they probably put the 25mm in that box. I'm so stupid. I don't understand Schwalbe speak.Oh wait, they don't come in a 28 here on Amazon. I knew I should have stuck to Vittoria. Smooth ride and correct size in the boxDoes Schwalbe think we are blind???UpdateI put on a Mich Pro4 Endurance. It's a true 25 mm and it's cheaper from my local LBS.

It feels like I am riding on air when they are fully pumped up. I had originally got them to help prevent flats, but I had never experienced treadless tires before. I like treadless tires now. These tires, plus a new seat and a few adjustments turned a $200 road bike into something fairly decent for short trips around town.

Use these on Zipp 303s and a noticeable and appreciated increase in comfort, speed, and roll ability. So far 2500 miles and both wheels are wearing well. Want to try 23s on a set of c24s.

Love these and am beyond disappointed Schwalbe has discontinued them
Love these and am beyond disappointed Schwalbe has discontinued them. I used the 25c size and found they were pretty much bomb-proof while offering great performance. Hopefully the Schwalbe One will offer similar performance and durability.

Worth the weight
A true 25mm unlike some of the more monsterously large 25's that some manufacturers are putting out, tread wear is very good and no punctures so far. This is a good looking tire as well.
