Chronicles of Dinosauria, Dinosaurs & Man from Creation to Cryptozoology

Modern dinosaurs and the extinction of naturalism
Woetzel and Dobbs have given us a wonderful introduction to modern dinosaurs and how they relate to the conflict between the Bible and extreme naturalism philosophy. Within the cross genre of young-earth-creation-science and cryptozoology, I highly recommend "Chronicles of Dinosauria."I have no problem giving this nonfiction book 5 stars, although it would be 4.7 if Amazon allowed such precision. Before we get into a few weaknesses, note the strengths. I know of no other nonfiction that comes close to meeting the needs of youth, families, and home schools, within the belief in traditional Biblical young-earth-creation, and within the realm of modern dinosaurs. The information content is fascinating and the generous color art, exhilarating.Take the following in the context of who I am: Jonathan Whitcomb. David Woetzel and I, along with our associates who have also trudged along jungle trails in search of "living fossils," in support of the truth found in the Bible—we are more rare than the "prehistoric" animals that we have sought. Among those few, I may be Woetzel's most severe critic. (Outside our small circle, our critics are both more severe and less objective, but that is a different subject.) Know that I praise this book for its wide coverage of the subject of modern living dinosaurs and other "prehistoric" creatures and how they make sense in the Biblical context but not in the strict-naturalism context. In addition, "Chronicles of Dinosauria" is written to be easily understood by most readers. After Garth Guessman and Woetzel returned from their 2004 expedition in Papua New Guinea, Guessman (who lives just miles from where I lived in Southern California) shared with me the video footage and interview-questionnaire results from their search and research on Umboi Island. This was just a few weeks after I myself had returned from my own expedition on that same island. I give you my word that I am completely convinced that they had indeed been on Umboi Island just a few weeks after I had explored and interviewed natives there. In their turn, those two Americans had questioned the natives and verified that I had recently been there. The point here is simple: Both of the 2004 Umboi Island ropen (living-pterosaur) expeditions resulted in interviews with native eyewitnesses, and no critic anywhere, that I know of, has suggested those were not actual expeditions in Papua New Guinea. We have videos to prove we were there, not to mention documentation, plane tickets, and a reporter who interviewed me in Papua New Guinea and wrote a front-page newspaper article, on my expedition, in a national paper of that country.I interviewed Woetzel (by both phone and email, as I recall) soon after the second 2004 expedition. On page 65 in "Chronicles of Dinosauria," he gives us only two sentences on his own sighting of a flying light that "left no [meteor] trail and . . . twinkled around the edges." I understand why he wrote so little about it, for other sightings have been much more dramatic, yet it deserves more attention here.I was a forensic videographer when I questioned Woetzel about his sighting of that flying light. I tried my best to get as much detailed and accurate information possible from him. His responses and the manner of his answering my questions assured me that he was indeed honestly reporting to me what he had seen that night: He watched a flying light that passed out of sight behind the mountain ridges that surround Lake Pung.I found nothing to suggest any exaggeration in the description of that light, nor any embellishment that could have tainted the conclusion that it was not a meteor. I came to believe, and still believe, that David Woetzel saw a bioluminescent pterosaur, and that it was the same type of flying creature reported by the native Jonah Jim. The absence of any discernible form or features for the creature seen by Woetzel does not invalidate our mutual conclusion that it was not a meteor but a ropen; he was just too far away to see the wings or tail. His sighting gives valuable cryptozoological evidence that needs to be taken in the context of other sightings in which details of the wings and tail were visible to eyewitnesses.I have written three nonfiction books on modern living pterosaurs, with two of those in their third (expanded/improved) editions. I know of nobody else who has had as many worldwide contacts, with eyewitnesses of apparent living pterosaurs, as I have been blessed with over the past ten years (thanks be to God). With that said, I offer a few comments, technical details. The World War II veteran Duane Hodgkinson was interviewed by Guessman in 2005, and this interview was videotaped (available, in part, on Youtube: "ropen-pterodactyl American eyewitness"). Hodgkinson made it clear that the "pterodactyl" he observed had about the same wingspan as a Piper Tri-Pacer airplane, or about twenty-nine feet; I don't know where Woetzel gets "about 20 feet." Also, I have interviewed the veteran several times, but I don't recall the word "serpentine" used for the neck. It was a long neck, but I suspect Woetzel should have just said "long," for somebody might envision a curve in the neck, and that has never been suggested in any interview of which I am aware. To my knowledge, very few scientific papers have been published on the possibility of modern living pterosaurs, probably two of the first ones being written by Woetzel and me (both in the Creation Research Society Quarterly). We disagreed, at least in those earlier years, about the most likely appearance of the head of the ropen of Umboi Island. I see much more credible-evidence for a head like the one in the image at the top-right of page 65 (in Chronicles of Dinosauria) than for the head shown in the image just below it. In fact, much of the cryptozoological evidence for a Sordes-pilosus kind of ropen comes from two credible interviews conducted by Guessman and Woetzel themselves on Umboi Island in 2004.But enough of the technical details. If you believe the Bible may be a more dependable explanation for life on this earth than the philosophy of Charles Darwin, and you have children or grandchildren who like dinosaurs, buy this book. I believe you'll find it more than just shocking and entertaining: You should find it truly enlightening, and the kids will love it.If you want a deeper coverage of sightings of modern pterosaurs, I suggest one of my books, especially "Searching for Ropens and Finding God" (353 printed pages), for only a few of the 85 pages of "Chronicles of Dinosauria" involve those featherless flying creatures. But regardless of whether you read one or both of those nonfictions, it looks like extreme naturalism is on the verge of extinction, at least for those who count human experience as more valuable than imagination. Why continue speculating about what happened "millions of years ago?"

The little known BIblical explanation of dinosaurs...revealed!
Difficulty: Easy to read and understandAge Recommendation: Children, Teens, and AdultsLet's face it. Everybody loves dinosaurs. Something about us is just attached to these incredible beasts from childhood, and it never leaves us. However, there is something else about dinosaurs which seems to stick with us. Several recent polls have indicated that, even though taught opposite, a majority of the world's population still believes that dinosaurs and people have coexisted. Why is this? Is it a failure on the evolutionists part to indoctrinate people about their worldview. Certainly not. Is it a "genetic thing" as the late Carl Sagan would like to us believe? No scientific evidence supports that memory gets past on biologically. So what is it?In the new, beautifully-illustrated book, Chronicles of Dinosauria, adventurer "Dino Dave" Woetzel and artist Richard Dobbs present a powerful case which suggests that the reason lies in the fact that humans and dinosaurs DID coexist, contrary to the evolutionary timeline. By examining the biblical timeline of history as well as evidence from fossils, historical records and descriptions, ancient artwork, cryptozoology (study of hidden animals), and biblical accounts, readers will see that the Bible can be trusted in its history and that the notion of dinosaurs and man coexisting is not just a Hollywood fantasy, but an established fact of reliable history. New research is also presented which revive the long-abandoned evidences of the Paluxy River Tracks and the Ica Stones, and establish the evidence of human artifacts in dinosaur (and "pre-dinosaur") rock layers. Complete with breathtaking artwork from illustrator Richard Dobbs, and a fun and unique "scrapbook" design, Chronicles of Dinosauria is simply a must have for any fan of dinosaurs or anyone interested in learning the true history of these "chiefs in the ways of God."

The single best book on dinosaurs.
Rich in illustrations, this book discusses how dinosaurs would have fit on Noah’s Ark, geological evidences for a world-wide flood, artifacts indicating that humans and dinosaurs once lived together (and there are many), and what happened to the dinosaurs after the Flood. It is a must-have for Christians and for evolutionists who are open-minded enough to study contrary information.

Awesome
So many books are written on the dinosaurs that died out 65 million years ago. We have a very evolutionized society that has been brainwashed to believe the "science" that proves millions of years and death before sin. This book, and many others like it, show many evidences of man living with dinosaurs, even in recent history. The artwork is awesome and each page is full of little tidbits you have to explore for yourself.

The truth about Dinosaurs
A great alternative to the constant barrage of evolution based books which seem to offer little actual science. It seems that they think that if they just keep repeating the same information over and over again, people will believe it. Sadly they do.This book is a refreshing change from that and presents a Biblical view of the creatures that we know as Dinosaurs and the recordings throughout history of them living at the same time as man. Why this information isn’t widely spread in other books is because it flies in the face of evolution but facts are facts.A great read with fantastic artwork which is a delight to look upon. Highly recommended.

Mejorable
Aunque sin pretensiones de ser un libro profundo, debiera de haber considerado una mejor exposición, algo más detallada. Claramente mejorable.
