Could be a little bit better on the temperature control went just a little too cheap

No batteries and lots of different points to try. The kit comes well packaged to take along on vacations or keep in your desk at home. If you can draw at all, this is a new way to see results.

I didn't read any instructions or anything before starting it's super easy to self teach and figure out how the pen works. Working on a 2nd project- but I will post pics of my first one when I get back home. A few of the attachment heads (there's so many!) Are great for "erasing" or fixing your work when cooled down. Over all great product especially for the price. I've noticed some of the attachment tips begin to melt if using too much pressure or using it for too long, and the tip they connect to has a nasty habit of becoming loose while working (so your attachment is wobbly while burning) but is easily fixed by securing tightly before and if needed during can do very quickly with a towel/just giving the machine a break. Glad I bought this <3

I am brand new to this craft. I did take time to read the directions for use as I had seen some negative reviews. Installing the tips correctly, and not pressing down on the tip when using is the key to a good outcome of the art and longevity of the tool. Once the tool and tip are heated, all you need to do is place it on the wood gently, and move it. The burning takes place. I like this set as it had very fine tips for scripting. It had a carry / storage case as well. I was pleased with the little wooden squares and templates that were included with the kit. I have been using the included wood squares to practice with before working on a basket base for a basket I'm working on.

This was my first time ever using a wood burner or even attempting to wood burn, so I don’t have anything to compare it with but what I know from using it, is that it does it’s job. From a performance standpoint, it does heat up pretty quick. The tips also make smooth lines, but it seems to lose its heat a little when you try to do long thick lines with the chisel tip. The problem with this product is that the head and the tips like to come loose while using it, and after awhile, the handle starts to get hot. I think the temperature control is good and I REALLY love that it came with a bunch of stuff! I think it is a good kit for a beginner— with a few adjustments, it would be a fantastic kit! *UPDATE* After using it a couple times I noticed that when some of the tips get hot, they began to bend.

I purchase several things on Amazon and was giving pretty in-depth reviews. From this point on, here's the new agenda…. if it works as advertised, is well made, meets or exceeds the description, is a value, and arrives in a fair amount of time, it will get a "star rating" equal to what my expectations were/are. If it doesn't meet these criteria, then I will most definitely and descriptively tell the short comings of the products and you as a consumer will not have to go through the trouble of buying the product without some background knowledge. If the sell pulls that item and relists under another description, I will put the exact same review on the seller's feedback page. Sellers have done this a couple of times in the past, and I was true to my word then as well as now. DR
