They work really well. I replaced some guides on a Penn rod that lost the inserts. I taught myself something new, the whipping these on. Fun little mini project and not difficult. We didn't have any thread but you can use basically anything. I found some of my daughter's rainbow string, thus the results you see. Very strong. We have caught several decent fish and no issues.

My husband had a few line guides come off of a 20+ year old surf rod. He was able to quickly attach these and get back to fishin'!
