I thought it might be nice to have one of these candles to light when reading, and after reading the description I figured the EDP 9oz candle would be a good choice for me. But when I looked at the packaging it said 6.5oz Hand poured candle instead of the 9oz as shown. I reported the error to Amazon and they offered a replacement. I received a replacement but it was another 6.5oz candle. It might not sound like much, but when you're paying over $20.00 for a 9oz candle at $2.24 per. oz. that 2.5 ounces less than you paid for is a rip off.The other issue I had with these candles is the lack of scent. I did place the candle in a small room where I read in a chair by my reading lamp and lit the candle. I let it burn for over two hours and I honestly could not tell the candle was emitting any scent at all. When I opened the boxes I did notice a faint scent that I would have enjoyed while relaxing or reading. But the scent was barely noticeable in the box, produced no discernible scent in the 9X7 room. Even when sitting right next to the table where it was burning you could not tell there was a scented candle near by.Maybe I received old stock, or maybe it was a bad batch. But in either case this should not happen when you make this type of purchase. Also since Amazon is advertising 9oz candles and shipping 6.5oz candles, they are at fault as much as Paddywax for their QC.Based on my experience with two of the 9oz Paddywax scented Edgar Allen Poe candles, and receiving two 6.5oz candles which produced no scent. All I can say is buyer beware.

I LOVE the fragrance of the Edgar Allen Poe candles! It's very pleasant, not floral or herb-y. It makes me think of a private library, flooded with warm sunlight, book cases from floor to ceiling filled with old leather bound volumes, comfortable chairs and a crackling fire.I am NOT a candle burner, but use it in an electric "Candle Warmer". The fragrance fills the family room/kitchen (18' X 35'), and filters in to the nearby powder room.I purchased my first Poe candle in 2010, at the French Market in Savannah GA., and then again after finding them on Amazon. Each time I have purchased this candle product it has been a 6.5oz size, and the product box has always been a 2 piece "old style" box with a lid.I certainly plan to continue purchasing this product through Amazon

Good gift for literary friends but very small . Would not buy again
