SchaefflerLuK DMF020 Dual Mass Flywheel, OEM Dual Mass Flywheel, LuK Replacement Clutch Parts

In planning to redo the clutch on my 2000 540i, I decided to replace everything so I would not have any problems. My old flywheel had some chatter when cold so this added to my decision. You have to buy the special Torx socket to remove and install the flywheel. I used the pin that goes into the flywheel from the engine block to hold the flywheel and it worked great. You do not have to buy the special BMW flywheel holder. After installing the new flywheel, It does not feel much different than the old one. It still has some cold chattering even after installing and carefully breaking in a new clutch. I think it is just an inherent problem on these dual mass flywheels. LUK is an OEM supplier to BMW and this is the only way to go if you are going to replace your flywheel. That being said, do not replace it if you have a cold chatter, it is normal. After talking to a couple of European repair shops, they do not recommend replacing the flywheels unless they somehow get destroyed. They should be good for a couple of clutches.

Normally I don't bother reviewing stuff but I figured I would for anyone that was as skeptical as I was initially purchasing this. Product is 100% OEM LUK and even includes the flywheel bolts! Shipping was quick to Rhode Island, took a couple days as it was coming all the way from Indiana. A+ would recommend and buy again, matter of fact I plan on keeping this car for a while so I might end up buying another set in case prices go up.

Installed, works and have no problems. saved hundreds over BMW gouge. I would replace it again with this if I ever needed.

I bought this flywheel in Feb. And it is already malfuctioning. I did not see any warranties for this product. This should have been a red flag. Very disappointed with this product.

Installation went with no problems, exact fitment, machine drives like it used to when it was new. Most recommended product.

Appears to be proper. Came with flywheel bolts. I haven't installed it yet and perhaps won't. Don't kid your self this thing is HEAVY! I'm sure it's the right one but I'm building a performance M62 and when I lift this flywheel I have no interest in putting it on my performance engine lol. What a beast!
