Works Well For What It Is
I use this nearly all the time when draining pasta water. It fits very well for my 2 quart pots which I typically use, though it's a little tricky with the larger 3 quart pot (and if I'm using an even bigger pot, I need a proper colander). Cleaning it is pretty easy by hand, or stuck in the dishwasher. My only complaint is, sometimes it's a little tricky to keep exactly into place, and then you drop some penne in the sink. If the bottom had two nubs, to go on either side of the pot (like the sides do) I think it would be a bigger win.Happy with the purchase, would buy again.

Same as the $6.95 version on Amazon.com
This 13 inch plastic pot drainer is exactly what I have been looking for when I don't want or need to use a colander. The area with holes for draining is approx. 8 1/2 inches and has pegs on the back to hold up against whatever pan you're using. I have successfully used it with 4" to 8" pans and it drains easily without slipping or getting hot steam on my hands. I also used it with some pasta in a deep 10 inch pan which was a bit more challenging for this hand drainer, but worked quite well. The Trudeau pot drainer washes easily by hand or in the dishwasher and I am so glad I bought it.

Space saver!!
I love this because you now don't have to put a whole colander I the dish washer anymore!! My only slight complaint is that it doesn't stay entirely stuff when it gets hot. My pot I use to cook noodles in is a sauce pan rather than a pot. So I can't grab both sides if the strainer to hold it on. I only have the one handle on my pan as opposed to 2 on a pot. So it flexes a little while straining and lets a few noodles out. Not a huge deal, but it would be nice if I could hold it in better.

handle is a bit short
This strainer works very well for draining grease from burger. I took one star off because, for my preferences, I do wish that the handle was a bit longer because it is a bit awkward to hold this one with the shorter handle. If the contents you are draining are super hot, you could POSSIBLY get burnt from steam. This has not happened to me, but when I have used it, I have thought that it looks like it could happen. Just a side note, so maybe use a pot holder with it?

Good strainer with practice
Purchased for straining pasta from large pots - works well on small ones too. Just be careful holding everything - make sure the strainer is firmly lodged with the tabs to hold it in place, or you could get scalded...and lose your dinner down the drain. ;-) I recommend a few practice trials with cold water until you get the hang of holding it all togerther.

Too small for a 12" pan
Great for draining grease from a 10" pan or smaller.Using it with a 12" pan leaves gaps on both sides as you are pouring. If you're careful, you won't lose any food but it's a pain.I docked it a star because it isn't big enough for a 12" fry pan and the description doesn't say what this 15" pot drainer fits. Maybe they make a bigger one...

Great drainer! Highly recommended!
This drainer is very easy to use, convenient, and perfect for most pot sizes. It is also easy to wash, easy to store, and the holes are big enough where water is drained fast (unlike other drainers that I've bought). So I highly recommend it. I use it mostly for pasta or when I want to make mashed potatoes and want to get rid of excess water. This is a great item to have in one's kitchen. I tried many other drainers and none of them has been as effective as this one in getting the water out fast and easily.

Great strainer
When I received this strainer, I was a little skeptical because the handle is so short. When I was playing around with it, I couldn't get a comfortable grip. But when I actually tried it out for real, everything changed. It's perfect! It really grips on to whatever you're straining, and is super easy to clean. I am very pleased with this strainer. It's a little tricky to store, because the handle isn't long enough to fit in a utensil holder, so I have it standing up between two pots in a cabinet.

Good in theory
There's nothing wrong with this item per se, since the material is good and it looks nice. However it's really quite inconvenient to use: you have a heavy pot in one hand and this thing in the other. Then when you pour out the water the hot steam is right on your hand. And finally pasta strands often sneak out if the drainer moves even slightly while draining (which it often does).I would recommend that people use the old fashioned drainers.

Really well made. Durable thick plastic.
Works so well with any size pot. Surprised by the good quality. Very durable. Thick plastic. Great color. Becoming very impressed with Trudeau.

Works alright and doesn't take up a lot of space.
I purchased this item because it was cheap and I was in need of a drainer. It works well on medium size pots but is difficult to handle in conjunction with boiling water especially with smaller pots.

This is one of the most used products in my kitchen. So handy! Way easier to use than a real colander/strainet
