Botack Down Filled Earflap Hat Ultralight Waterproof Windproof Down Fleece Cap Warm Beanie for Skiing

This cap popped up on Facebook one morning. I kind of get interested in unusual hats/caps so I looked on Amazon, read reviews, & didn't do anything. After a few days, I kept thinking about it, but it looked silly. Well... I went & ordered one. Most "one size" hats are way too small for me because my head is 23 1/2". But it said it should fit me. Now I have it and, 1st off, it fits me fine, not loose but hugging my head so it won't blow off, AND, it's VERY comfortable. This morning it was 28, with some wind gusts. I went out for the mailbox with a down vest on & this cap. My head was warmer than my upper bod. so I know this cap really works. The ear covering doesn't block the sound a bit. They were doing some tree trimming in the next block & the distant chain-saw noise came right through the ear flaps. Mine is black, but I like it so much I'm thinking about getting an orange one too.

Love this hat so far. Seems fairly well made. Nice soft lining though I'm not sure why it's called "rabbit fur". It's definitely a synthetic lining but I don't see that as a bad thing. The shell is a slightly shiny fabric.It looks a little silly on me, but I'm old enough not to care much about that anymore. :)I wear a size small motorcycle helmet. This hat fits somewhat loosely on me, but I find that way more comfortable than another down hat I tried that was really tight around my head. Comfortable enough to wear overnight when camping.

It's the warmest hat in my collection. A great cap to wear when sleeping out in the cold. The snug fit and smooth shell allow you to sleep in it without the need to constantly wake up and reposition it like you would with a knit or wool beanie. Not the most stylish accessory, but it does keep the head warm.

It's a bit large for me, my hat size is 6 1/8" which is a bit on the small side, not the hats fault. I was wearing a hat liner that wasn't warm enough by itself so I added the Botack for warmth and stop the wind. Botack worked wonderful. I was worried it would blow off but it didn't. Temp was 6deg f. Wind 10-15mph. My head was warm. 1st Pic is at the top of Mount Jefferson, White Mountains of NH. Wish they came in a small and the opening was a bit tighter. I ended up adding grommets and a sliding cord so it can't fall off. 2nd pic is my personal modification. The hat does NOT come with Grommets or Cord.

I used this in Edmonton at -40, worked well as part of expedition gear, far better than the wool or thinsulate I was using. Stayed flexible too. Wish they made full head, face & neck model

Ok, let me just say that this hat is functional. It's super soft and warm. But, it looked stupid on me because I have a smaller head and it was really tall on me. It covered my eyes and I pulled it down to fit snuggly on my head. I also thought it looked bad - wasn't cute like a beanie. I gave it to my husband who it fit better.

This hat has been keeping me warm in the winter weather. I love that it has the waterproof outer material. That helps keep my head from getting wet when it's snowing out. I also like the ear flaps, they keep my ears warm without the need for separate earmuffs.

Always looking for that little comfort edge when dealing with winter cold and this was reasonably priced so I thought I would give it a try. Looking for something to fit under a hood and not get in the way. This was it. I have a big head and have had trouble getting stuff to fit but this was great. Good fit and easily covers the ears and feels good when wearing it. I don't wear it by itself but I don't see why you could not. Happy I tried it.
