Brugmansia and Datura: Angel's Trumpets and Thorn Apples

:-) Very interesting knowledge about Brugmansia.

This is a very useful book, covering everything from the difference between Brugmansia and Datura, diseases, care and propagation, history and varieties to the poisonous aspect of the plants. The only thing lacking is the description of plants hybridized since the book was published in 2002. I definitely recommend this book to anyone interested in, or growing, Angel's Trumpets. They are a beautiful, amazing plant!

I was really interested in how to grow Brugmansias. How to care for them, over-winter them and propagate them. There isn't that much in this book about that. If you are interested in their history and information about specific ones its great. If you are interested in the everyday stuff, not so much.

Somebody advised me to buy this, I've not been disappointed, I'm a novice when it comes to these plants so hope to gain experience after reading it.

It's too bad that this book isn't more common. I got it because I had some Brugmansia seed and wanted to give it the best chance to grow and thrive. This book provided that admirably, and in addition, it showed many varieties of which I hadn't been aware, expanding my wish list (I need a bigger greenhouse). The photographs are beautiful, the illustrations and instructions are clear. I would recommend the book to any and all people finding themselves intrigued by these wonderful, fragrant (though completely poisonous in all parts) plants.
