Harris Diatomaceous Earth Powder Duster with 6 Inch Extension Nozzle, for Easier Application of DE in Home & Outdoor Lawn and Garden Use

Works well, holds quite a bit of diatomaceous earth. Seems mostly sturdy. Not terribly large so you may need to make multiple fills depending on the area you are using it in. It looks strange especially when you’ve never used one before. Writing a review for this as I bought it because I was unaware there was one in the 4lb bag I previously purchased.

This powder duster has been a great tool for applying both diatomaceous earth and other powders like Tempo 1%. For the price, it's a solid buy, and it works just as well as some of the more expensive options out there. It sprays evenly and reaches into tight spaces, which is exactly what I needed. One thing to keep in mind is that it needs a good shake every few uses to keep it from clogging, but that’s expected with powder-based applications. The nozzle gives a strong, wide spray and spreads the powder well, making it very effective for pest control around the house and yard. It feels durable, works efficiently, and gets the job done without wasting product. I’d definitely recommend it to anyone working with powders who wants a reliable and simple solution.

Great little tool to help spread your diatomaceous earth so you don’t need to use your hands. I wish it came with a funnel or something to easily pour in the powder. The powder comes out VERY thick and quickly on the first pump but once you get a rhythm down it’s pretty even. Holds quite a bit of powder, enough that I rarely need to refill for my 15x5 area of broccoli, etc. The length top to bottom is easily held with one hand so it’s a good size. Sturdy build, easily put together. Just screw on the top and slip the tip into the base.

Our dog was gone, but not her little guests. Did not wish to use poisons or other harsh chemicals. Tried this gadget with a very fine powdered "Food Grade" Diatomaceous Earth (DE). Loved that I could make a fine mist that spread the product lightly and evenly across all of the surfaces and into small spaces. I was annoyed slightly that it takes two or three compressions to lighten and even the mist when you first start and if you stop for any reason. It took a few minutes the first time to get the hang of it. Use light and gentle, but fast compressions for the most uniform coverage. Upon the first use, I very quickly realized that I needed protection for my eyes and a dust mask to filter my breathing. I also left the house for three hours to let the "dust fog" settle. Then, I vacuumed the floor lightly, and put blankets on my chairs and couches to keep the dust in the cushions, off my clothes, and out of the air. I left the blankets on for a few weeks before removing them and vacuuming the furniture. I only had to do this whole process twice in about a 6 week period as eggs hatched. It has now been 5 and 1/2 months. I have not seen any fleas since about 8 or 10 weeks after the first treatment. They were mostly gone from the couches in a few days. I just kept protecting the powder in them until the carpets and floors were also clear with no new hatchings. No pesticides, no dangerous chemicals. Just results! I bought a 5 and 1/2 pound bag of DE, and have only used about a pound of it for about 2400 square ft. I am sure I would have used much more if I had not had this wonderful little gadget. Now I am wondering if what's left will help with my yard pests! One last note, if your animals are still in the home, I recommend getting them out of the house for a few hours. Also, you may have to clean it up more thoroughly than I did by leaving the dust in my couches and corners. So, it may take more treatments closer together; I really do not know. I am very happy with our results. It is now almost three years. No more treatments, and no more more fleas. We never did have the heart to replace our beloved dog, but at least her guests are gone, too!

I picked this up with a very large bag of diatomaceous earth as we have developed a rather large ant problem but have many outdoor animals to consider. This was particularly meant to dust our garden and around the base of our house. I followed the directions, which weren’t too involved, but while using this with the nozzle at the top, I wouldn’t get much if any dust at all. Now I know this kills at basically a microscopic level but I would expect to see the dust accumulate after a few sprays. I then tried turning it upside down just to see if there was some alien technology inside this little device that would just blast out the powder at full concentration…… no alien tech here. It puts out the powder in full flow faster than you can say refill. Logically the next step was to try it horizontally, which resulted in the same output as nozzle on top, light to no dusting. I have since resorted to holding it sideways and shacking up the powder from the non-nozzle side often and it dispenses less than full powder, but not really dust, but it works. I really don’t think I am doing anything wrong, maybe just too high of expected outcomes, but this drops my ease of use score. The next star down is the durability. I have only used this a handful of times between learning my technique and actually “dusting” the house and I can tell already that the connection locations on the accordion plastic isn’t likely to last all that long. I am not familiar with any other options and it will somewhat work in the way I am using it now albeit tedious, but I feel like it is using way too much of the powder when it should be a light, yet visible dusting.

Great for blowing into a large area, Great for dust removal. Very sturdiness, size is just right. I recommend this Duster.

I am giving negative rating but here i cannot give negative so am giving one star and worst product ever i bought. Not working at all.very very disappointed.

Very simple design which works perfectly. The large bellows design puffs much better than the bulb style puffers, as it really blows some air out meaning you deliver more powder with more force. I needed to puff some wasp nest killer powder into a nest above head height. Most bottle only push powder out when pointing down. This allows you to shoot powder deep into the entrance of the nest at any angle. Well worth the money.
