I own a KitchenAid pastry mat (Purch’d @ Target) that has a slight tear from using a metal-pastry scraper to divide my partially frozen-dough (pie crust); still 100% functional but, I didn’t have on-hand when I needed it to make “Bao Buns” so, I recently purchased the “blue” pastry mat. It came folded in half-twice inside a clear/plastic/sealed-bag, inside a slender/cardboard-manufacturer’s box packaging, and a loosely-packed very small/black-scrunchie (didn’t notice item until it fell out when I shook box upside down, just in case, right before discarding packaging) w/ a piece of clear-tape on the open-end. Easy to clean - rinsed under faucet (cumbersome part despite having a deep-sink), placed back onto countertop to lightly wipe off top-surface w/ sponge + soap (easily w/ NO scrubbing/scraping/force needed at all!), rinsed thoroughly under faucet, shook off excess water, hung across the back of a chair to fully air dry, rolled up, used “scrunchie” to secure mat in place & prevent from unraveling then, stored away w/ rolling pin. •Details: mat is a large/generous size (larger than KitchenAid mat), thick (thicker than KitchenAid mat), durable, 100% non-stick top-surface (w/ dough; not tested w/ caramel/etc. yet), backing has great adhesion (no sliding/shifting at all while working w/ dough, unlike w/ KitchenAid mat) to non-porous countertops (such as marble, granite, and other faux/non-porous surfaces; NOT effective on porous surfaces such as wood/laminate surfaces)… The ONLY downside (to me) is that it only has circular measurements for circular-shaped doughs + measurement around perimeter vs. KitchenAid mat has the circular measurements in center, around the perimeter PLUS, an additional feature of horizontal + vertical measurements across entire surface (edge to edge) of mat for square/rectangular/elongated-shaped doughs. •Overall Opinion: I’m very pleased w/ my purchase (product quality + price), would def recommend… but, may consider looking for another mat that has both types of measurements (for square/rectangular + circular-shaped doughs) like the KitchenAid mat, in the future. I think this mat will last for a long time if properly handled & stored, and by avoiding the use of very sharp objects (knife, etc) on surface; NOT indestructible or cut-resistant (IMO)! Note: I have NOT tested using my metal-pastry scraper on this mat yet, fearing that it may cause a tear like it did w/ my KitchenAid mat but, based on its’ thickness, may be less likely to tear if strongly pushing down a metal-scraper into mat when dividing/cutting firm/frozen doughs (use caution if doing so)!? Also, have NOT tested mat in an oven, or applied anything hot on top of its surface so, can not attest to its claim to be “heat resistant”!

The mat stays put on the work surface, cleans up in a flash and allows easy work on pastry or bread dough. The size is great, my table stays clean and all the flour remains on the mat. I made a dozen flaky scallion cakes in a flash, with enough work area to do the job.

I have been using these mats for 3 1/2 years, and they are still perfect. I have both blue & white and the red & tan in various sizes. When I first got one, I put it in a preheated oven on the middle rack at 460 degrees for a half-hour. There was no damage or yellowing... no reaction at all! These won't slide around on a table, counter or metal surface but I have found nothing that sticks to either side (reversible). They are heavy-duty, thick and very durable. They are also trimmable to whatever shape or size I need, with no fraying or bits of fiberglass (unlike many other brands). I've used them for lining baking pans or my oven, toaster oven, and even cut the outer circle of one of the 28x20 mats for a perfect fit on the glass turn-table in my large Panasonic microwave oven. It pads and protects glass from my dropping glass bowls (I have fairly severe arthritis, so an unreliable grip) as well as being light weight and Much Easier to remove and clean spills and spatters than the large heavy glass, and unlike paper towels, nothing soaks through onto the glass. I seldom write reviews, as I feel it's misleading to review something without first using products extensively (unless it is obviously junk to start with), and by the time I have enough experience with a product for a reliable review, I usually forget to write one, as well as typing being difficult and uncomfortable due to the afore=mentioned arthritis . I just happened to think of this while searching Amazon for something else. I will be copy/pasting this review on the Amazon listings for my other sizes and colors, so don't be surprised or think it's from seller or spammer. I had never heard of or had any dealings with "Folksy Super Kitchen" before or after these mats, but I won't hesitate to buy their products again if I see something from them that I need or want.

The nicest pastry mat I have ever had. Large enough for any pastry project. The silicone material keeps the mat from moving on your counter. The measurements,etc. are easy to see/read. Very easy to keep clean. I would definitely recommend and would purchase again.

Perfect size nice mat

Purchased to ease clean-up of my sourdough efforts. I like working on my glass top stove as the lighting is good but I wanted to put down something easy to clean and protective of the surface. This pastry mat fits the bill. It is grippy yet wipes clean and easy to roll up and store away.

It’s incredibly sturdy and well-made, perfect for all my homemade pizza, pierogies, ravioli, bread, and cookie baking needs. The generous size and convenient measurements make it easy to roll out dough to the perfect thickness every time. Cleaning is also easy, thanks to the nonstick surface. We usually wet a kitchen sponge with some dish soap and scrub the mat while it’s still on the table. Then, we remove the excess soap with the same sponge before rinsing the mat in the sink. It’s too large for our sink, so this method makes cleaning faster. Whether I’m baking or prepping dough, this mat has become an essential tool I can’t do without. Highly recommended for any home baker or chef!

Really works well when making dough. Adheres to the counter and doesn’t slip. Easy clean up.
