Works well and looks good. Sturdy and looks like it will last. Just be aware that the instructions on how to set the code are on the box and the installation/fixing instructions are inside on a piece of paper. Took me a while to try and find where and how to set the code.

Does what it says it will - easy to work. Not easy to change your code as you have to take it apart and fiddle with the inside but it operates very smoothly. On the whole very happy with it.

Bought this in January for an outdoor application for which it was supposed to be suited. Over the heatwave weekend in July it just stopped working. None of the buttons do anything and it was impossible to reset even when I removed it by cutting through the door to gain access to the bolts at the back. Very disappointing considering it’s price is over £100. No refund, no warranty. Will not buy from this seller again, it’s probably an inferior copy of the proper thing. My guess is something warped or expanded inside due to the heat and became dislodged, so that now the C button no longer resets the levers to allow the correct code to be input. It couldn’t be breakdown from overuse because it was only used to lock and unlock maybe once or twice each day, for less than 6 months.

These are well built units with easy to follow installation instructions to mount for either left handed or right handed operation. Weatherproof, but I took the precaution of spraying some GT50 water repellant inside the unit to help protect the mechanical workings as ours are mounted on outdoor gates. It’s easy enough to set the code with the supplied instructions, but I would suggest you don’t duplicate any numbers in your code as one push of the relevant number is all that’s needed. Downsides? Make sure you cut the securing screws to the right length otherwise the unit bodies will not secure properly against the door and will move around. Secondly, and more importantly, setting the lock to work left handed ( bolt sliding left when interior non keypad side, latch facing you and door/ gate hinges on right) reveals the bolt is slightly shorter, so make sure, when mounting, the bolt locates in the catch and doesn’t fall short. Apart from that niggle, does a great job of keeping our garden secure.

PITA to install but working fine, and glad I got it… They must have known I’d cut some parts too short so supplied 2 of them…

Good quality but I discovered that whatever number combination you choose, the numbers can be input in any order. ie, 1968 can be input 6189 or 9861 and all will unlock. This means that with regular use , it will be easy to identify which 4 buttons are pressed and access will be easy. If you end up purchasing, I suggest you change the code fairly regularly so that the shine is removed from all buttons equally !

There are a bunch of reviews on here saying that it failed pretty quick (I thought the same). If they had the same experience that I did, the buttons became mushy and no code would work. I tried locking and unlocking it, thinking it would reset the pins but nothing. Luckily, that C button reset the pins.

This lock is exactly what we wanted for our gate with the big exception that it is defective. It installed fairly easily and worked immediately after install, but 24hr later it didn't work at all. When we pushed the buttons with our code, they were soft and not engaging. The lock would not unlock with the code. My husband removed the lock and tried adjusting the pins after which it worked until he put it back up again and we had the same issue. With all the bad reviews, I was hesitant to order the lock but there weren't any other options with good reviews on black locks of this type. We contacted the seller Bestlead and received no response. We are returning this item and will have to come up with another solution. It was tempting to try a replacement, but with other reviews saying it stopped working after 3 or 4 months or longer, we don't want to chance it and just feel lucky we are within the return window to get our money back. Super disappointing.
