Merlot Twin Over Full Bunk with Trundle and 5 Drawer Chest

Overall the product rates average for me.....The trundle is a certain NO - It moves and shakes due to the 2 wheels it has for rolling in and out....manufacturer needs to find a way to lock the wheels so that the trundle is stable when being used for sleeping !Assembly was not too easy but with 2 people and some additional tools takes about 3 hours. If the instructions were a bit more clearer with write ups supporting the diagrams, we could have knocked it off sooner I think.The horizontal slats to hold the mattress is quite flimsy and does feel like it may break quite easily.....with Kids, jumping around on beds is inevitable. You are not around them 24/7 to monitor them and if they do jump around it feels like it can cave in. Manufacturer clearly states - No horsing around on the beds - but try telling naughty boys that ! For now it is okay we have it for just under a month and the boys are happy with their bed.One of the pieces was cracked upon arrival and I continue to use the same piece as it can be used in spite of the crack.Hope this helps future buyers.

I got this in white at art van for $399 + $89 3-drawer trundle storage. The bed looks great & my 4-year old couln't be more excited. Unfortunately I had to put it together. With a power drill & my dad helping w/the lower bunk it took 4.5 hours. I could not even pay art van to send someone out. The construction seems decent for kids as long as they are not rowdy. There is some shake when daughter moves on top. She weighs only 40#. It did not collapse w/200# husband & 25# baby on bottom bunk. It does not seem as solid as the bunks of my childhood that were thick wood.Overall i am pleased w/product. I hope its sturdy enough. And I wish furniture came assembled anymore!

Great , sturdy, good looking bed. My Grandchildren just loved it. It has plenty of storage with a dresser. and the trundle bed can also be used for storage or a visiting friend,or-in this case the dog. I Tell you, i was also grateful for the great delivery people and how fast delivery was made. Just look and see the guardrail is secure=, yet has a space for ladder egress on both sides, so the kids don't have to go over the rail. They should include the mattress-at least for the trundle bed. Overall, I think is a great buy.

I purchased this bunk bed set for my son with the Desk instead of the Chest of Drawers about 6 months ago. The assembly was horrible, the instructions were adiquate at best, but the cuts on the pieces of wood were at odd angles and not 90's like the needed to be. Needless to say, the bed did not fit together very well, with large gaps between the mating of different pieces. Once complete, the set is sturdy enough for my 7 year old, but not much more than that, and it does not look good because of all of the gaps in the assembly.I am writing this because I figured I got what I paid for, since most good bunk beds are going to be twice to three times what this costs, I figure it was worth the gamble. Now that the set is 6+ months old, most of the wood has started to splinter and split as to expose anyone to slivers on most of the pieces.In summary, this set is not just inexpensive, it is CHEAP, in every way. I would not recommend this set to anyone unless they are looking for some very expensive fire wood.

Nice crib at the right price, easy to assemble, it took around an hour to complete the assembly. Chest was shipped fully assembled. I am using it for more than a month,my son likes it.

This bunk bed is very sturdy and looks great. Much better quality than similarly priced beds in stores. The only thing not mentioned in the description is that the twin trundle will only accommodate an 8.5 inch matress. Not a big deal, but standard pillow top matresses nowadays run 9-12", so measure your mattress first. Top bunk is more forgiving- I have a 9.5 inch mattress on top and there is still enough rail above it for safety. Ladder secures to top and bottom so it won't lift off with vigorous climbing. Makes changing the full mattress a bit tougher, but it results in a very solid feeling ladder setup.
