Shatranj Ke Khilari (New Single Dvd, Hindi Movie With English Subtitles)

Although movie is nice but I think it is a disservice to history. Awadh was the last place English did not/could not conquer while the rest of India was long subjects of British. So depicting that dynasty and people as spineless is a distortion of history. How about the rest of India who had surrendered to British long time before them? The problem was cruel British colonialism not any specific people of any region of India.

The film is a classic

The movie is a classic. This is a historical movie and Satyajit Ray made his first Hindi movie with his natural brilliance. I never get bored watching his movies. The DVD is manufactured by Shemaroo , so av quality is good. But I noticed that the disc is of blue colour like a CD-R or CD-RW and it's not silver colour as a pre recorded DVD should be. Otherwise it's Good.

Needless to say one of a classic hindi film coming from the institution lije Satyajit Ray. Based on Munshi Premchand's hindi story of the same name. Go ahead if one really likes and values the real cinema. A priceless gem.

The movie got stuck at some places rest was fine! At this price it's pretty much ok.
