Super fun and unique gift— perfect for car junkies

Great book

Book is awesome, and came a day early. Makes a great gift my dad.

This is a fun book, but be aware - it's really just a bunch of black-and-white car images. Not much in the way of context. But it is a kick to find the cars your parents and grandparents drove - and the ones you drove back in the day. My husband and I (both 70-ish) enjoyed finding my mom's 1960 Dodge Dart - with the push-button transmission - our family car, the boat-like Electra 225 and the 67 Mustang I drove as a newly licensed driver. My father-in-law's Corvair. They're all there. It's a very thick book, and it's made for browsing. It's one of those books you look at for 30 minutes, then pick up a week later. A great gift for a car lover of a certain age.

This book is amazing! It was a gift for my Dad who has had over 50 cars during his lifetime and he absolutely loved it! The illustrations are awesome and there is a lot of additional information in it which he appreciated.

It was a Christmas gift. I haven't given it yet.

Good book

If you don't mind the black & white photos, this book is definitely the magnum opus out of all the derivative of this author book series on American cars. Combining every other books he done plus some more in a unique illustration using advertisements and brochures but still good enough illustrations of the cars themselves. The page count is comparable to Beverly Rae Kimes's indispensable behemoth of a gem. Great easy-to-read book for the general reader not wanting overwhelming technical bits but still wants to know everything about American cars.

Nachdem ich mir vor Jahren den farblichen "Car Spotter's Bible" gekauft habe, war ich jetzt etwas enttäuscht. Die Papierqualität ist sehr bescheiden (wie das Papier in Haushaltswarengeschäfte, in welche man Glasartikel einpackt) und die Abdrücke von Farbprospékte (vor allem ab den 70er Jahre) unklar. Das kann mein Kopierer zuhause fast schon besser. Ansonsten wäre es das perfekte Buch um an einem verregneten Abend drin zu schmökern. Es fehlen zwar die Zahlen und Fakten wie in der "Car Spotter's Bible", aber dafür ist diese Ausgabe vollständiger (z.B. sind hier auch die allerersten Jahrgänge von Chevy II abgebildet)

My dad is an antique car collector and has had hundreds of cars over the years. I gave this book to him for Christmas and he LOVES it. It is a perfect name for the book - first thing he did was start flipping through and point out the ones he has owned. He didn't mind that it is all black & white - he seemed to think it was fitting for the era. Yes, it is a very heavy book but works fine sitting on the table while he flipped through.

the number of cars in that book is simply astonishing. there are so many that all the pictures are black in white and even with that the book is huge. it's a fantastic book regarding american cars industry

I bought this for my husband, and he enjoyed looking through all of the older cars with his dad and grandfather! Was a great throwback and had some interesting info!
