Unlocking The Bible: A Unique Overview of the Whole Bible

This book is extraordinary! So much information written in superb form! It has enriched my understanding of each book. I am doing the Bible Recap so I study through this book BEFORE AND DURING each separate book of the Bible. I also Bible verse map so it has given me so much broader understanding! I have certainly raved about it to my friends.

The OT chapters in Unlocking The Bible are not in the order of the Bible itself nor are they in chronological order. Instead they’ve been outlined into 5 sections: The Maker’s Instructions A Land and a Kingdom Poems of Worship and Wisdom Decline and Fall of an Empire The Struggle to Survive This re-ordering has helped me put a timeline in my head and has made the Bible more relevant. It corresponds so much better with life today so I can read the Bible knowing how real the people I read about are and that their struggles are my own as well.

David Pawson is a great teaching and this overview is worth its weight in gold.

Love David Pawson. I watch him on YouTube. This book is great to read along with your Bible. He brings a lot of history of what was going on at the specific time of every book in the bible. It made it easier for me to understand why certain people acted the way they did at different times in the bible. I hope this made sense to someone looking to buy this. GOD BLESS!

I came across Pastor David Pawson's Unlocking the Bible video series in Chinese on YouTube and was attracted by the series immediately. Within two weeks I finished the entire Unlocking the Old Testament in Chinese and truly admires Pastor Pawson's guts in standing firm on the Biblical truth. His teaching clears a lot of my misinterpretation of the Bible for the last 21 years. All these years I was like Martha busy in earthly life and rarely resting in Him. I wish I have listened to Pastor Pawson's teaching early in my Christian life while my faith was in infancy. I never thoroughly read the Bible entirely (only quoted verses here and there),but now I have begun with Genesis by reading out loud every verse as suggested by Pastor Pawson which strangely help me understand the Bible better. I love his teaching so much I bought this companion book and his entire sermons from his web site. With God's mercy I may stand up and run on His righteousness path again. Thank you my Heavenly Father in choosing me in Jesus Christ to receiving His Salvation prior the creation of the Heavens and the Earth..

I stumbled on the free lecture playlists on YouTube and found there was a book that goes into even more detail. This is a must own for anyone who wants more context as they study their Bible. I’ve already gifted several to folks and plan to gift many more. Such a great gift for anyone who finds themselves studying their Bible. “Context is everything” in the Bible and this book sticks to the scriptures and challenges you to read your Bible and “unlock it for yourself”. It’s helped me get closer to God’s word and for that I’m forever grateful. God bless David and his family! Hallelujah!

This book is not just another bible reference book. The author makes it read almost like a novel. He has mostly 5 star ratings on his books and I can see why. It is very interesting reading. I'm sure anyone who reads this book will find out things that they never knew about the bible and it's characters. Sometimes I read for hours and can't put it down. We have also used it for Bible study. I will continue to use this as a reference book for years to come.

Excellent overview of the Bible. Taking my time with this and learning a lot from David Pawson! Great companion to the Bible.

good but David have fallen for the angels that had sex with woman. Lots of people believe that. But the bible interprete itself. Sons of God are believers (not angels) and sons of man are unbelivers. Don't be the one to fall for those theories. I am surprise he did, although he only mention a couple of lines and that some people believe that, I am surprise he did not say that is the wrong believe. I am still at the beginning, but couldn't resist to mention that here. Everything else: perfect , up to what I read.

This is a must have book to accompany your Bible studies. Gives in-depth information about each book in the Bible. Font size is quite large too which is a pleasure to read. Tremendous value for the low price! Get yourself one!

Pour commencer, cette édition est à privilégier : 25 cm plutôt que 19 pour les pages, ça rend la lecture beaucoup plus agréable. Pour le reste, que dire à part que David Pawson est un fabuleux enseignant de la Bible, qui sait la rendre passionnante, concrète et utile pour tous, croyants ou non. On apprend beaucoup de choses, et en même temps, rien de surnaturel dans cet éclairage : tout est logique, fait sens et concorde avec les écritures. On comprend aussi beaucoup mieux qui est Dieu et c'est indispensable à une époque où ce qui s'appelle christianisme ressemble à un immense et disparate étalage dans lequel chacun vient faire son marché. Pourtant, la Bible est très claire sur tous les sujets fondamentaux pour la foi, mais il est vrai que certaines de ces vérités ne sont pas agréables à entendre. C'est un des mérites de ce livre de nous pousser à considérer la globalité du message de la Bible et non des versets ici ou là. Le meilleur moyen de comprendre la Bible, c'est de la lire : elle est son meilleur interprète. Ce livre non seulement nous y incite, mais nous livre des clés précieuses pour cette démarche. Vivement une version française pour rendre ce joyau accessible au monde francophone ! Dernière précision : ce livre n'est absolument pas redondant avec les videos youtube correspondantes. Le livre rentre dans beaucoup plus de détails sur chaque sujet.

This book is quite intense and detail but very easy to read, cross reference and enjoy. It takes you through a journey of the Holy Bible and give you detailed explanation regarding questions etc. I believe if you are serious regarding know more about the Bible, this book should be read.
