Wonderful variety of animals all great quality without a plastic feel, really sturdy, although some part very small so not suitable for young children. Requires some assembly of the boxes but was part of the fun setting it all up for our little animal lover

Takes about an hour to set up! Easy to do though, good instructions and good gifts inside each of the boxes. The instructions give you indications as to which gift goes in which day, but you can swap around. As LO is only 4, I pieced the items together before placing in the boxes (in true Playmobil fashion, the flowers need to be added to the leaves which need to be added to the branches etc!) No "dud" gifts, all reasonable and felt like good value for money (bought on Prime day for £20). It's compact, and the boxes can be saved for next year to make a new calendar. No messy doors hanging open, you turn the boxes over to make a picture making it a neater appearance. The Brio one in comparison was not good value for money for example.

We wanted to give our 2 1/2 year-old a set of animal toys for Christmas, and this was a great way to do it. As an adult, I had a lot of fun assembling the toys and boxes, and my son adores the animals. We have spent a while with reference books identifying the exact species of fish (blue marlin) and snakes etc. The only fault is that the paint is NOT waterproof in a toddler bath, so our ring-tailed lemur is unfortunately now a bit piebald.

My animal obsession daughter loved this advent calendar and kept asking when she could open the next box. Only 4.* as unfortunately the peacocks legs were missing. Really good value as you get 24 animals which would cost a lot more buying individually.

Advent calendar requires made up. Some lovely animal additions in this set. Can't wait until the wee one starts opening the boxes

Wow, this is best advent calendar I have ever purchased! It is lovely. Yes you have to put it together but who cares, it’s for my daughter and it’s Christmas! Incredibly well made and each animal is beautiful. Worth every penny. It took me about 20 minutes to sort it out and I put each boxes content into a little baggies I already had so not to miss place any little pieces, which there are quite a few. I’d say this is for an older child because of the little detailed pieces included, my daughter is nearly 18 years old but is young at heart like me and adores animals. Highly recommended product from a great company! Very happy mum indeed.
