Heavy Duty Metal Portal Bookend, Creative Gift for Game Lovers

I love these! I just remodeled my office and had several old games I am displaying on the shelving I installed, but they kept falling down. Problem solved! These Portal themed bookends have a good weight, are sturdy, and do the job of keeping game boxes and books from falling over. They are especially appropriate for the purpose I am using them for and look great.

Great weight to it. Holds as many books as you need it to, just depends on your shelf size/weight tolerance.

A little hard to assemble, but looks great!

Only complaint is the random drastic price changes

I have some heavy weight books and binders that seem to just dwarf most bookends. I couldn't resist these and thought they were really clever and fun.These are much higher quality and a heavier weight than I was expecting which is great for what I wanted to use them for. They assembled very quickly and are extremely sturdy. Even if you're not a Portal fan (I'm actually not and know next to nothing about it), I thought these were still very cool and unique. My hubby who is a fan of the game, tried to take them from me but I wouldn't let him. lolThese would make a great gift as well but are a fun addition that is practical. They are a little expensive for what they are though. These works be a great deal in the $25-30 range, in my opinion.

The silver metal part is very sturdy and good quality, however the color of the portals is not very vibrant. You also have to assemble the person, which is easy enough, however they pieces do not fit very snuggly and are wiggly. Overall a really cute concept, but expensive for what you get.

To anyone who's a fan of the amazing "Portal" video game series, these are the perfect bookends.The main portion of each bookend is a surprisingly heavy gauge steel plate. The "Portal graphic" on either end... from either the blue or orange "mode" of the portal gun... is strsight from the game, and the little figure is straight from the maniacal A.I., GlaDOS's "instructional videos."I've got quite the collection of Portal memorabilia. From my talking portrait of "Aperture Science" founder Cave Johnson, to my plush Companion Cube, to my "guarding" miniature turret, to my PotatOS kit, to, yes, my full-size Portal Gun prop (right next to my full size gravity gun prop).So, it's no surprise that I really, REALLY wanted these bookends. What IS a surprise, though, is just how much sturdier than I expected that these are.These are a niche, "special interest" item, of course. But for me, these are PERFECT.

Parts required to be connected together. The slot and tabs for one was off. I could not insert as delivered. I had to use a file to extend the slot to properly put together. Nice end product, but not machined well.

While the quality seems good, the box was beat to hell messing up the item inside now I gotta try figure how to flatten it back to normal
