I really like this phone but.....
I really like this phone but it has several annoying issues:-- There are several apps that I have used perfectly well on previous phones that just will not work on the Gretel GT6000. Sky Go, BT Sport and TFL Oyster refuse to run, giving messages that the phone “appears to be rooted”. The seller’s comments on that left me more than a little confused:-“. . the two (at the time I queried it) apps you want to download but failed, we knew that the new phone is all rooted. If you have more in-depth needs, this may lead to machine crashes or unusable (in this case need to rebrush the machine) you might also know that. . “- The phone has fast charging technology (9V / 2A) yet the product arrived with a travel charger (5V / 1A). The seller’s reply to my query stated:-“. . according to British regulations, the 9V/2A charger is too large to be put into the box. .” They have since kindly refunded me £10 to source my own fast charger and informed me that they would modify the product description accordingly.- The start-up / reboot time is incredibly slow – ice ages could come and go in the time it takes this phone to fire-up! This despite ensuring that there are no unnecessary apps running.- However, without a doubt the most infuriating thing about this phone is that I really like it! I love the look, weight and feel of the GT6000. I love the battery life. I love the photo quality of the 13MP camera. I especially love the reaction from friends and colleagues when they discover the price I paid for what is (or could / should be) a truly fantastic phone. If only the above issues could be sorted out.Unfortunately as it stands I am already looking for another mobile that can run the apps that I am used to having available. Shame but there you have it.
