History Repeats Itself.
Many years ago, pre-Internet, the best I could get as far as a book about bee keeping was a dog-eared between-the-Wars book which did little more than put me off. Now, what with 'The Good Life' being a reality so many more families want to not only recapture in spirit, but also do it for themselves, bee keeping has once again become a reality for everyone.Published in 2007, this book is bang up to date and excellent in telling you everything you need to know about bees, keeping them and harvesting their honey; and how to avoid being stung, and if you are, how to get rid of the stinger quickly before it does too much damage.Yes, a spledid book in every aspect, and although I believe every word it says, I may just venture into reading a couple more editions before I, possibly, take the plunge? But hey, if Grandad kept bees here 60 years ago, why not give it another shot for nostalgia's sake?

Good little bee guide - save the bee!
Cute little book, nicely bound & made, covers all the info & details about smallholders bee keeping. Bees are cute, in decline & need our help. Without bees, we would be stuffed. Recommended & hope it gives the buyer some further enthusiasm. Save the bee, buy the book!

beginners guide
easy read, concise book. I went on a day beginners course which really helped. This book is a good introoduction for these courses. The other books just seemd too long. When you want to "scope" something you don't need a compendium, just an idea of what's involved to see whether it's worth exploring further. Great price for good value book. Recommend doing day course or attending local bee keeping meeting as well before you press on.

Good book to buy if starting out in Bee keeping.
I was thinking of keeping bees and this gives you all the info you need.I am glad that I read up first as this is a hobby that needs a lot of thought before rushing out to get a hive. An excellent read and plenty of info for novices.

Perfect Starter Book
Perfect first book for people thinking about beekeeping and not sure whether to go fo it (like me). I read the whole book in a day - it is brief and factual and not padded out like a lot of books.

Brilliant Little Book
This was one of the first books I read on beekeeping which really laid out things very simply and clearly. I felt I had so much more understanding afterwards. I liked it so much I bought a copy for a friend as I didn't want to lend her mine in case I didn't get it back.
