Bluetooth obd 2
This is a great little device. Worked perfectly on my 07 ford focus and my 2001 Lexus is200. Was able to check all codes, remove dash lights and check stats live. When you receive it you need to download developers app VgateFwUpdater, once downloaded open it. Hit the scan button to scan for your device once done hit update to update the firmware. Bear in mind engine needs to be switched on for power to update & scan the ecu. Then download car scanner on App Store. Very simple to do. Just plug the obd in and start the engine up, open car scanner, go to setting and select your car from the database once done, go to the main menu and hit connect. Takes a few seconds only. On my Lexus I removed the check engine light cause of the decat and removed all lambda codes. Cel then turned off. The ford focus had 1 code for a system fault which was removed. Everything is sound now. Saved money from going to a mechanic. Brilliant little obd scanner. 3 lights on the front to tell you it’s on & Bluetooth is active. Can’t recommend it more. For £20 what more could you want. Just buy it.

Works well. Good value
Good stuff. I use this with car scanner app on iPhone and Android.I was able to get sensor data recorded and DTC read on my Citroen C4.Note that the BLE device will show as iOS-vgate and it also works on Android.

Works well with Land Rover Discovery Sport
Exploring the intricacies of this little gizmo, I found it quite practical with a few quirks along the way. Connecting it to my 2019 Land Rover Discovery Sport was straightforward enough, but be prepared, you'll either stick to the recommended app with its subscription or hunt down alternatives that are VIN-limited. A bit cheeky, that. Now, while it worked flawlessly on my Disco, it threw a strop when trying to connect to an older Megane. Android chums will have a smoother ride over iOS users, who might face compatibility hitches. But there's hope if you're patient. For example, I nearly abandoned ship but found that keeping my phone within inches of the reader finally did the trick. It's a bit like coaxing a cat to behave, honestly. When all is said and done, it does what's on the tin, with a dash of patience.

Successful Connection
Successful connection with Nissan Qashqai 2015 1.5 dci. Paired with 3 free apps I use for diagnosis and code clearing as a hobbyist. I keep it in the car and has already saved me time and money twice (diesel Qashqai life).

This actually worked better than the more expensive ones

Great little device
I'm awarding 5 stars as this did everything expected of it. Comes with a booklet of QR codes so you can find the OBD scanner program your car prefers more easily. However, it took me a while to find a program that worked with my car. (Not the device's problem!) The first program I downloaded did not reset fault codes unless you paid a monthly subscription. The second one declared the free version did set codes but damned if I could find how to. The third program worked like a dream. I won't give the program names because you'll have a different experience depending on your car. Do what I did - quiz Chatgpt about which program works best for your car - and stipulate fault code reset in the free version, if that's what you want.

It’s ok
It’s ok just for reading codes, didn’t find much more use of, limited to what you can do, probably down to the apps that are available

A Must-Have For Car Scanner
First-off, this review is for the Vgate iCar Pro Bluetooth 4.0 (BLE), interfacing with the Car Scanner app on IoS. If this is you then forget about the numpties who can't tie their shoe-laces and come on writing one-star reviews on this superb OBD2 device, crying that it just won't connect or their Mumsie has burnt the toast. I highly recommend that you go to the Car Scanner website and read about device compatibility and how to actually use the app, but it really is simple to use anyway. If you get this device and are using it with an IoS device, then you're all sorted! Load-up the app, Car Scanner, to your iPhone and run it; plug-in the device to the car's OBD2 port, power-up the car and in no time, Car Scanner will find the device. Select it and the profile for your car. That's it! Follow the app options and off you go, scanning for codes, etc.
