Goture Spinning Reel, Ultra Smooth Powerful Saltwater Freshwater Spinning Reel, 2000, 3000, 4000, 5000, 6000 Series Surf Fishing Reels, Red & Gold & Black

After having a month or so to play around with this reel and catch some fish on it, I can say that it's a pretty solid reel for the price, all things considered. The anti reverse works great and is instant, the bail is easy enough to open and close and reeling feels relatively smooth. It doesn't compare to my $100+ reels, but that would be unfair to compare a reel that costs a third of the price to those anyway.As is pretty typical in less expensive reels, the drag does leave a little to be desired. It's both extremely loud and pingy sounding and also takes a little bit to get going. Once it's really going it works fine, but like almost all of the cheaper reels it takes a little harder tug to start it.It comes with an extra handle with a different look and feel if that's something you're interested in swapping out too.All told, it works and it works pretty well. Looks nice too. It's just not an expensive reel so don't expect it to compare to the nicer more expensive stuff and I think you'll be pleased with it.

I bought this for a small saltwater outfit. I can’t see spending big bucks on anything that is going to be exposed to saltwater and sand. I was impressed with the build and appearance, so I spooled it up with some mono and headed to the back yard to try it out. Casts great and most of the time, it will flip the bail back when I start to crank. I found that some positions were better than others. Return was super smooth and I love how the drag adjustment ratchets. I think for the money, this will work great.

Smooth casting real and it does what it is advertised to do. You get the best cast out of it with 6-8 pound line. Great for panfish and crappie, lake trout, etc.

Reel-y this is a good reel. For an unknown, Chinese made product you reel-y can't go wrong for the price. I spooled it with some 20# braid and attached it to an old medium action rod I have and it works rather well. It reels in silently and smoothly. Casts were average and it didn't get a rats nest. I like that it came with a 2nd spool so I can spool the 2nd one with some monofilament or fluorocarbon and can swap between the 2 if needed. It also came with a 2nd handle, so I'm hoping that's not a sign that the handle is prone to break. If so, well at least I have a spare.Overall, a decent, inexpensive reel to have on hand for maybe a spare setup.

I accidentally ordered a 5000 size by mistake, I mainly fish for bass. This is too big for my needs. That said, the reel feel solid and we'll made. I spooled up some 30lb braid and it cast easily. It feels a bit on the heavy side when compared to another 5000 reel. There is also a bit of wobble in the handle. I do not think I would reply on this for a main reel but should suffice for a backup.

I was looking for a cheaper alternative and I was pleasantly surprised at this reel's function. Good feel and smooth operation. I might even get myself another one or a different size for another rod.

This is a good reel in this price range. It works just as well as big brand reels in this price range. The reel spins smoothly. The drag seems to work good enough, haven't had any issues yet. Overall, I'd say it's worth getting.
