I purchased these orbs to replace a set I already owned, and really like the different colored mirrored pieces. The mirrored finish reflects the light and they are quite eye-catching. I have all three orbs in a long silver boat-shaped dish and they are just what I was looking for! They are well made with No missing mirrors that create "bald spots" . The only negative for my application is that they have no identified "bottom" at all - so they tend to roll with the slightest movement. My previous orbs had a slightly flat area on the bottom that was covered with a small piece of felt that protected one's furniture / bowl. These do not - they are mirrored all of the way around. Some folks may place these in a clear vase, and the lack of the bottom would be desirable -so it all depends on how you plan to use them. (I did end up placing a small self-adhesive strip of felt on the "bottom side" and it fixed any rolling. I have gotten lots of comments on these orbs - and had hardly any on my previous set ... so that spoke volumes to me! These would make a nice gift or look good in an area where you need to draw a little bit of attention.
