not worth it.
when i recieved this game, i popped it into my computer and waited to see the "install" screen. instead, it popped up saying that the "setup" is either missing or dammaged. my computer already automatically had dos box installed to it, so there is no reason it shouldnt have run. the disk looks brand new, but yet it still doesnt work. im not pleased with this purchase.

A Semi-Good Sim Game
Definately not the best simulation game put out, but still, this offers some addictive gameplay, until you reach "tower" status. There are different levels and your job is to build a sucessful mall complex, with shops, movie theatres, rec halls, condos, business offices and more. With rare VIP visits, bomb threats and Santa Claus this game doesn't have tooo many unexpected twists. You have to do a lot of waiting to get to new levels and to earn more money. I'd say if you like sim games give this one a shot if you find it at a cheap price.

Fun and somewhat addicting, but slow-moving - You'll need to install additional software to run this on newer 64-bit computers
I have owned SimTower since I was a kid, and sometimes play it even today. The largest challenge in every building is making the elevator system run efficiently when you have limited resources (only 24 shafts total regardless of building size), and other transportation methods such as stairs and escalators are also limited in number and usefulness. Additional challenges include carefully placing businesses where they'll get enough customers and constructing the right mix of properties. It's nice that every building can be done differently (there's always something new to try). One downside is that the game runs out of challenges and new items after you reach three stars - the beginning of that star level is hard and unlocks many new items, but the four and five-star levels have no new items or challenges (other than continuing to increase your population). The game is also slow-moving, so you'll need plenty of time and patience. Winning is difficult at first, but once you figure out how to build a better tower it becomes easy. This is a fun game if you enjoy Sim games and have plenty of time to play. If you don't have much time or patience then SimTower is not for you.UPDATE 6/17/15: Many people say that they have trouble running the game because of its age. When I recently bought a new computer (Windows 8.1 64-bit) I temporarily lost my ability to play until finding a solution. The game was made for 16-bit computers, and new 64-bit computers will not run it without installing additional software to make the machine backward compatible with 16-bit games. I'll give my solution below. Note that you will need to install (and run) two programs in order for SimTower to work on a 64-bit computer - DOSBox is only the first step. The second program you'll need is an old copy of Windows 3.1 - If you haven't used this version of Windows for a while (or have never used it at all) it might take a little while to figure out how to navigate, since there were major changes in the user interface when Windows 95 was introduced.(1) Download and install DOSBox on your computer;(2) Use DOSBox to install Windows 3.1 (if you're like me you'll end up reading multiple tutorials, because there are additional drivers that need to be downloaded for the sound to work and I had a little trouble with the prompts in DOSBox);(3) When you go into DOSBox, be sure to mount your cd-rom drive before you mount your c drive (if you go into Windows 3.1 without mounting the cd-rom drive, the disc will not be accessible) - an example of this command would be "mount d d:\ -t cdrom" (don't type the quotation marks);(4) Mount your hard drive (the c drive) in DOSBox after you have mounted your cd-rom drive - If you installed Windows 3.1 to a folder called "oldgames" and you see a folder in that drive called "Windows," type "mount c c:\oldgames\" (when you're mounting your c drive, do not mount the Windows folder - Windows will not start correctly if you enter "mount c c:\oldgames\windows\");(5) Type "cd windows" and then "win" to start Windows 3.1;(6) Insert the CD-ROM disc - The installation process will not start automatically (you'll have to go to the Run command in Windows and type something like d:\setup.exe).(7) Install SimTower - The installation defaults will be fine. When you use the game in the future, you won't need to bother with mounting the cd-rom drive before starting Windows. The process is easier said than done, but once everything is set up correctly the game should run.UPDATE 7/31/2015: I had no trouble running the program on my computer after upgrading the main operating system to Windows 10 64-bit. As with 64-bit versions of Windows 7 and 8, you will need to use DOSBox (and run Windows 3.1 within DOSBox) in order to play the game.

This will not run on any of my computers, ...
This will not run on any of my computers, not even the older models. EA and Amazon both refused a refund. For now it is just a paperweight.
