This book is great for people with a basic working knowledge of Networking, but it may be difficult for people who would be absolute beginners. I do feel beginners can also learn from this book. It is a good one to go to when you have a question about how something works or you're just looking to add to your knowledge. This would be a great gift for people heading to work in computers, IT,Networking, etc.

I would highly reccomend this book if you plan to learn about networking.

I purchased this book thinking it was for beginners, as I am a beginner or below when it comes to computers. After reading it, I think it is aimed at people who have more experience in the networking field. It covers everything you need to increase knowledge in the field: design, security, performance optimization, and much more. If you are brand new to networking, this probably isn't the book for you. Not to say I didn't learn anything--for example I know more network access control. If you already have some experience, this is your book, and I would highly recommend it.

Terrible book! Does not explain networking at all, just a book of terminology without explanations. I have now learned to stay away from tech books without publishers. There is a reason that no reputable publisher wants to be associated with this book. Stick with publishers like O'Reilly or Pearson Addison Wesley. Second time this week I have burned this month by books filled with useless content. Looks like his printer was low on toner in poor resolution photo attached
