Perfect for 2-speed Whole House Fan control in conjunction with Alexa/Echo
Well OK, it's not easy to get excited about a relay, but this one has worked perfectly for my application. I'm using it to switch speeds when controlling my 2-speed QuietCool ES-3100 whole house fan via my Alexa+SmartThings setup, in conjunction with two on/off Z-Wave switches (one switch controls power to the fan, the other selects Hi/Lo by using this relay).I know the 20 amp rating on this relay is overkill for the 670W fan motor, but I wanted to be prepared in case I want to up-size the fan in the future.I mounted this relay right onto the junction box that's part of the fan; a perfect fit. A lock nut is included with the relay for attaching through 1/2" openings on junction boxes. Very good quality product, highly recommended, with the connection diagram clearly marked on the unit itself.

I like that it can fail open or shut and like that it has a friendly diagram for the novice
So I am not an electrician, just a DIY guy - so take this with a grain of salt. But I liked this relay because you could attach it directly to the punch out box of a electric junction box. I used this relay in conjunction with a little giant water pump.Little Giant 554542 VCMX-20ULS-C - also purchased on amazonSo my dehumidifier in the basement was always filling up and I had to dump manually. Instead I have the pump as the condensate catcher and it automatically kicks in every now and again based on a float switch to pump out the water to my sewer line. I found a nice tube already going in and just added a T. Not bad.But the water pump also has a float shutoff switch if it overflows. But that switch is low voltage. So I have a 24V transformer supplying the power, and this transformer can either fail the circuit open or fail the circuit closed. There is a nice diagram right on the front. I chose to fail open, but that was just my preference. So again, the transformer supplies the power, as long as the emergency float switch is not thrown, power flows to the 24v side of the relay, and 115v power is supplied to the new outlet to power the dehumidifier. BUT - if the pump starts overflowing, the 24v loop is cut, the transformer shuts off power to the 115v side, and the dehumidifier loses electricity and turns off.Pretty slick

Convenient design, Flexible and simple to use.
Have used many 15amp RIBs for both A/C controls and Lighting controls. Used this 20amp one as a Lighting Control, needed it to fix another electricians problem. He had too many amps passing thru a switch, was able to use switch relay with switch and lighting with relay. These have the dual options for the coil and also the NO/NC switch. Allowing great flexibility in design.

Allows Interlock of HVAC Unit with Broan Universal Make-up Air Damper
As part of our kitchen renovation, we installed a 1200cfm range hood that requires a make-up air damper. While Broan's MD10TU does a great job of opening and closing the fresh air intake into our return air plenum, it does not easily allow you to interlock the hood and the HVAC unit. Using this relay, I was able to make it so that when the Broan damper energizes, the relay opens a connection between the R & G terminals on our Carrier Infinity unit so that the fan runs.In short, if you turn on our hood and the HVAC unit isn't already running, this relay will engage the fan on High so that the make-up air works as it should.Huge problem solver that worked perfectly.

Works with Z-Wave outlet to open garage door.
Used this in conjunction with a z-wave controlled outlet to operate my garage door opener. I probably spent more than I needed to, as 20 Amp relays seem to go pretty cheap. However, since it was my first experience with a relay, I thought it best spend the extra and buy something preconfigured to work. Well, it works like a champ. Now I can open my garage from blocks away, versus 15 feet with my genie garage door opener. After a lot of research, I opted for the DIY outlet + relay setup versus an out-of-the-box solution.

I should have bought this one first.
I needed a 24 VAC relay for a circulation pump when I was rebuilding my heating system. I saw this product but I also saw an "Electronics Salon" relay that had two relays in one package for half the price. Specifications said it had a life expectancy of 1,000,000 operations under a full load. What a deal! What could possibly go wrong? The morning after I installed the cheaper relay, I woke up to a cold house and a very hot boiler. The cheap Chinese relay didn't even last a day, and it had no reason to fail since the pump was pulling a small fraction of its rated load through it. So I replaced it with this relay and learned my lesson. When you're counting on a relay to work, buy one that has proven reliability. I have had no problems with it and I like the LED.

Great Relay and Decent Price
I used this relay to fix a problem connecting a new smart thermostat to an old boiler furnace. Works like a champ. I like the status LED so i can see where it commands the boiler on. Works like a champion.

Great for a single pole double throw relay switch to alternate power between two devices.
Works as spec'd, that is double throw switch relay did what we needed-at up to 20A.We used it to switch between two heavy loads, where one must be cut off before the other kicks in.We had a high start-up load from an electric motor that required another motor to be cut off before it could provide the startup power for the heavier demand motor. The heavier demand motor which was a well pump 1/2hp motor that only runs for 30 seconds. The other load was actually a running refrigerator that when in a defrost cycle the total load was too much. It was easy to use the pressure switch to activate this double throw switch.Problem solved.
