Great Backpacking Stuff for Tarp Tie Outs
Greatest stuff ever. Super light and strong. Made (12) 6 foot tarp tie outs with 6 inch 1/8 shock cord tensioners purchased from paracord planet. Works great on silnylon tarps for my hammocks. Also made a 25 foot bear bag rope. I spliced all the ends and made loop splices on the other end. I used 24 guage Silver Beading Wire from Wal Mart sewing craft section to make the fid. The fid was placed folded end first into the inside of the Zing It and then the tapered end was placed into the open end and I used pliers to twist the wire down on the tapered end. This seemed to work best for me to bury the tag end. I used a large needle passed through the loop on the folded end of the wire to wrap two fingers around in order pull the tapered end into the bury (just like a lawn mower pull starter). Work slow using this method and coax the tapered end into the cord using your finger and thumb. To much force will cause the fid to untwist on the tapered end. Wasn't that difficult once I did the first two or three. I should have enough Zing It left over for some more continuous ridge lines that I will build using some Dutch Bling from Dutchware. Way lighter than the paracord I was using and allowed me to shave yet some more micro weight from my pack as I get closer to Ultralight from Light. Working hard to trim my base from the 13 pounds it currently is. Goal is 10ish pounds. The tensioners were tied onto the Zing It using clove hitches. To date they are stil tight and have not come off. Love this tensioner setup and has to be lighter than the other methods. This was the best price I could find on the Zing It.

Best backpacking cordage I've used!!
This cord is fantastic for a backpacker's needs. I used paracord on the A.T. and thought that it was the best thing around. And then it got wet and stretched and when it rained it caused the tarp to sag and pool water. This line doesn't stretch and is equally strong for backpacking purposes, be it a ridge line or bear bag. It is a fraction of the weight and volume. The price seems high until you take into account that this cord is durable and light and strong and there is a lot of it. Best cordage for hiking I've used and I would be hard pressed to find a better line than this. Would recommend to any hiker or backpacker.

Worth every penny
This stuff is incredibly strong and lightweight for its size. It holds knots well, splices easily using a wire fid, and is relatively tangle-free.Besides color, the major difference between Zing-It and its grey cousin, Lash-It, is a slightly waxy coating on this product. This coating reduces the slipperiness of the line, helping it to hold knots and avoid tangles a bit better than Lash-It.

I’m impressed
Got this for continuous ridgelines formy hammock tarps. Though it is somewhat expensive, it’s much lighter and less bulky than “paracord” and as strong without any stretch. No idea if it’s good throw line, but will probably work great for that or anything camping.Yes it’s on a spool and nicely packaged.

Premium Purpose Built Quality Cordage
Perfect for attaching to tents as guy lines, using to “zing” over tree limbs to hoist a rope, or other similar applications. At 500+ pounds tensile strength, it can handle most anything. A bit small in diameter to comfortably hoist a loaded bear bag - it is perfect for all other cordage applications. I replaced all of the stake and guy out cordage on my Durston Pro 1 tent with Zing-it and am exceedingly pleased!

A backpackers " must-have"
So many applications. After years of being a cheapskate, I finally decided to spend more on quality line. I'm so glad I did ! Lightweight, strong, doesn't stretch. Great for ridgeline on my hammocks & tarps, guylines, I put that S@#& on everything ! And i got through Dutchware,so I knew it was the real stuff 1

Good line. Need good knot skills.
Its exactly what i needed for my tyouts. I dont use any hardware so i had to loop my taut line hitch knot 6 times to keep it from sliding.I dont think id want to use it as my main ridgeline though, since without hardware 6 loops per knot is time consuming. I leave the tyouts attached to the tarp though so i dont have to redo any knots when i setup. Thicker line is also easier to throw around trees.Overall though, besides the price, its an amazing product. If this product was sold in 100 ft. spools i think it would be a lot more popular. 300 ft. is pretty overkill for most campers.

Good stuff!
Good stuff!I use it in the place of 550 para-cord. It is about the same strength rating, but much lighter, and almost no stretch. Also it can easily be spliced. The bright yellow is highly visible, and works well for me as guidelines & ridge lines for my hammock tarp setup.
