Rough Country Drop Pitman Arm for 87-06 Jeep Wrangler | 84-01 Cherokee XJ - 6605

I installed a 2.5” spring lift and 1.25” shackles to replace a janky homemade shackle lift that the previous owner had installed (and also to replace very worn out stock springs). After the install I noticed the steering wheel was no longer straight and the steering was jerky (as if it wanted to continue left or right when I went into a curve). After reading online, and knowing my alignment wasn’t the issue; I figured out it was steering geometry that caused the issue. The stock pitman and lift kit was causing the steering to be at to steep of an angle. I installed the RC drop pitman arm last night and it seems to have cured the issue. It isn’t jerky now and drives much smoother into and through curves. Bump steer seems to be much better as well.Update March 8th 2022: so far so good. Seems to be well made and has not given any issues. The steering alignment angles are much better than before and it drives much smoother. I still occasionally have death wobble issues, but that isn’t an issue with this part. I highly recommend this part for any YJ lifted enough to effect steering angles.

2001 Jeep XJBought this unit as I had to replace my steering gear and could not get the old pitman arm off (ended up cutting it). I have a 3.75"lift and had some bump steer which I wanted to eliminate, to some degree. This unit drops one inch (1") from my stock unit which makes it at a much better angle (see pics). Solid unit, similar to the factory one.

If you're doing a lift on your Jeep that exceeds 3 inches, this is the 'go to' thing that you must have. I did a 2.5 inch lift on the springs and another 2 inch lift on my shackles.. It changed the suspension linkage angles. Pain getting old one off and even installing new but necessary. Glad I did it and I'm new to this.

Product received was clearly installed and used. Chips in paint and wear shown where hardware was previously installed. Part will still work for my application but will need to be repainted.

Installed on my YJ with a 4.5” lift , ran it waits the stock pitman arm for two years not sure why I waited so long it’s nice to turn just as much both ways ! Ha ha
