To be honest was not looking for high bass speakers. That's for my sub. Was really looking to replace my rear speakers. What I needed was something that would pair nicely on over all sound. Was looking for more then just bass needed something that would put power the bass lines and not sound distorted. Well I took a chance on those ones. They sound good by them self if you don't want bass. But when I add my sub in the mix it is great. The right audio / Bass levels. They work really well together. I ended replacing all 4 of my car speakers from stock speakers on a 93 Plymouth Sundance wagon. To 5 1/4 " kicker door speakers and a pair of 5/7" rear speakers. Using a really old after market radio. Mix with my 800watt kicker amp. With a 12" kicker sub. Now this little car let's the neighborhood know am going down the road. But if you read this this point I will get down the real facts here. If your only looking for good sound not great. To use your tweeters more then really more depth then those will get you there. Just me personally. All I need is good sould from my rears my sub takes over the rest. As far as my fronts there kicker as well. They have a good bass with them to to help make it sound good up front but when you set everything perfect. Will in my setup to me or is great. I could not be happier. They did fit into the Mounting bracket for my rear locations. Easy plug and play. At this point a couple day after installation we have to see how they break in and weather or not they hold up after putting though the ringer a bit. But time will tell. The speakers installed easily in all four locations in the vehicle. Couldn't have been easier with the Metra 72-5600 Speaker Adapters. I like soldering as much as the next geek, but the adapters are worth the cost, in time savings and keeping the factory wiring harness intact. Plus, I did get to solder and heat shrink on the adapter for the head unit. The speakers connect to a Kenwood KDC248U head unit. All in all not a bad "budget" system with decent performance for around $150 for all the components mentioned in this article. This will not compete with a serious system, but I didn't tick the wife off either by spending three times as much. As an aside, if you do these little jobs a little at a time and while they're not there, you can generally fly below the wife's radar, so to speak. ;) Do let the speakers break-in some. My first listen was disappointing but they started sounding decent after a couple of hours over several days. As you would expect the bass is lacking but not non-existent. Sound is subjective, so your opinion may differ.
