We have demo'd Bosch, Viking,...etc and several other burners...some sort of combination K&H unit will make it into our perm kitchen (right now we are using this during our whole house reno...) Unit requires 240V / 20A breaker with #12 wiring or better. The questions and reviews stating a 30A breaker is acceptable are WRONG. This unit is designed to operate on a 2-pole 20A breaker. If you already have a 30A/240V circuit and want to use this appliance on that circuit, you need to REPLACE the 30A 2-pole breaker with a 20A 2-pole breaker. It is acceptable to reduce the breaker size, not increase. If you're concerned about safety, a 2-pole 20A GFCI breaker can be installed to power the cooktop (this is especially important if you're using a plug & receptacle arrangement on TOP of the counter). Don't listen to people that don't know. It does draw around 12 amps on full chooch. I've had mine almost 3 years and love it a lot. Just about every day for every task. Even pre heating pans faster than gas. Then I may switch to gas for fine tuning or finesse. Or to help heat the kitchen. This device doesn't heat the house much. As there is no spil over heat like a gas cooktop. In summer i use this exclusively. **Q: What is the precison of temperature control (to the nearest 5 F., for example)?** A: Not sure on the 5F, but it’s 12 buttons in half step each, so 24 control options, all incredibly stable. I have cooked everything from scallops to salmon to warming up soup. **Q: Question to the Seller: Where is this made?** A: I’m not a seller, but biught and installed this cooktop in a brand new high-end kitchen. It’s made in China, but is of excellent quality on par with Bosch for 1/10th the price. Every time, one burner goes out (well one time, we just got a completely bad unit). Some times they last 2 weeks, sometimes they last several months. But always the same result. Dealing with support, they make excuses like "it must be wired wrong" or "you're going to put us out of business with these warranty claims". Well, maybe the problem is you shouldn't sell a faulty design. Most recently, they've just stopped responding and failing to send out RMA labels. It would be one thing if they'd at least respond to queries as to what the problem was. Instead, they just take the unit back, service it, blame us, and send it back. But zero feedback as to what to tell the electrician or what they're doing to 'service it'. For all I know, they're just resetting a fuse or something simple.
