They are easy to use. We play catch with them in the house and it makes for a great time. Our 3 and 10 year old both enjoy tossing it around the house, it just takes a little bit of getting used to how to throw it. The only thing I docked a staff for is the battery life. It lasts about 4 or 5 minutes before it's dead and needs a charge again. Maybe we got a bad unit but we had another one a few years ago that ended up broken for some reason or another, but it definitely lasted longer that this one does.
