Review: Great headset - ‘Xbox One Chat Headset’ Atmos works for my Home Theater - ‘Xbox One Chat Headset’ Great product. For me I needed a headset with mic that allows my Atmos system to perform as it should. 9.2.4 works great even with the headset plugged in. I tried a wireless one from another brand and Xbox would only allow the Atmos in the headset (which isn’t really Atmos). Review: 5 stars for the price - Eventually, serious gamers will ditch the standard headset, but if you're new to the Xbox or gaming in general, or you just need to buy some time while you research more expensive headsets, this is a great starter! Mine has been through the ringer (thrown, sat on, spilled drinks, etc.) and still works! So it's highly durable as well. No batteries required, as it attaches by wire to your Xbox controller. Easy to mute and adjust the volume using the integrated buttons that are already at your fingertips. Now for the cons! - Your squad/teammates will hear background noise through your mic if it's loud enough. True for a lot of headsets, but with this type especially, you're not using it for game audio (only chat audio). So that means you're going to be relying on your TV's audio during gaming. If you turn that up too loud, teammates will hear it! - While wired has some advantages, the big disadvantage is that it dangles and can get easily snagged. Minor gripe, but worth mentioning. - Foam earpiece is comfortable for short-term gaming, but the fact it's up against your entire ear becomes more noticeable over time. - Not the loudest or clearest audio experience! Overall though, it's hard to beat the price. Great to have as a backup or in the meantime while you're trying to decide on a more expensive headset. ## Features - Chat privately with your friends while gaming - Chat in crystal-clear digital audio - Lightweight and comfortable for long gaming sessions - Responsive microphone with adjustable boom - Easy to use ## Technical Specifications | Specification | Value | |---------------|-------| | ASIN | B00NGIYFOA | | Additional Features | Information Not Available | | Age Range Description | Adult | | Antenna Location | Indoor/Outdoor | | Best Sellers Rank | #9,355 in Video Games ( See Top 100 in Video Games ) #29 in Xbox One Headsets | | Brand Name | Xbox | | Built-In Media | Information Not Available | | Cable Features | Retractable, Without Cable | | Color | Black | | Compatible Devices | Xbox One X, Xbox One S, Xbox One, Xbox Series X, Windows 10 | | Connectivity Technology | Wired | | Control Method | Touch | | Control Type | Volume Control | | Customer Reviews | 4.1 4.1 out of 5 stars (11,620) | | Earpiece Shape | Over Ear | | Enclosure Material | Plastic, Silicone, Fabric | | Frequency Range | 20 Hz - 20,000 Hz | | Global Trade Identification Number | 00885370862225, 88537060404700 | | Headphone Folding Features | Over Ear | | Headphone Jack | 3.5 mm Jack | | Headphones Ear Placement | Over Ear | | Is Autographed | No | | Item Type Name | Headset | | Item Weight | 0.45 Ounces | | Manufacturer | Microsoft Software | | Model Name | S5V-00014 | | Model Number | S5V-00007 | | Noise Control | None | | Number of Items | 1 | | Series Number | 5 | | Specific Uses For Product | Gaming | | UPC | 885370862225 889842160192 885370604047 885370817614 | | Unit Count | 1.0 Count | | Warranty Description | Information Not Available | | Wireless Technology | Bluetooth | ## Product Details - **Brand:** Xbox - **Color:** Black - **Ear Placement:** Over Ear - **Form Factor:** Over Ear - **Noise Control:** None ## Images ![Xbox One Chat Headset - Image 1](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/71FIK79AU2L.jpg) ## Questions & Answers **Q: Can I hear the gameplay sound with this? or is it just for chat? If yes, can I unplug the headset to plug another 3.5mm audio jack ?** A: I wish I had read this question. This headset is only for chatting and no game audio will play through it. So, if you want to mute the TV out of courtesy for roommates, etc, then still be able to hear with the headphones, that's not possible. I was pretty bummed out. **Q: Can i use this microphone to do livestreams on twitch and beam? also, do i need to purchase anything else? is there a adapter to buy??** A: Mike, this thing will drive you nuts in short order. It hurts to wear it in a short amount of time, and it drains the batteries in the controller quickly. **Q: Is this just a microphone? Or is it a headphone and microphone?** A: It's the headphones And microphone attatched . It's the same exact headset that came with the xbox **Q: does the mic adapter come off the mic or is it permanent with the mic** A: The mic adapter plugs into the controller but it is not easy to disconnect ## Customer Reviews ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Great headset - ‘Xbox One Chat Headset’ Atmos works for my Home Theater *by R***R on October 23, 2025* ‘Xbox One Chat Headset’ Great product.
