Inferior mixer
The media could not be loaded. I have been looking at Kitchen Aid mixers for the last year unable to commit to buying due to price and confusion over different models - I bake regularly and have been using a hand mixer by Kenwood but find it a little heavy now , so when I saw this on line I started to research - it is a sturdy piece of kit , looks professional and has a lovely matt grey - how disappointed I was to become . After the first use I noticed the mixer was noisey and the main head vibrated - surely this cannot be correct - I contacted AEG ( eventually - be prepared for a long wait - their customer service call centre is very in efficient ) after video of mixer action being sent, and agreeing that it was a faulty product a replacement mixer was delivered . Unbelievably the second mixer was doing the same thing - this one sounded like a tractor ! - another video and Customer service saying " I must have just been unlucky" A third mixer was delivered - which subsequently did the same thing - even tho the total weight of ingredients was under 500g - For any keen baker you would know that this quantity is not a lot ! And for such a sturdy stand mixer - no strain should be seen on the motor . This morning I contacted AEG again - I was cut off - by a rather unhelpful assistant just telling me to speak to my seller - which I did who have refunded me my money allowing me to purchase from KA - which I wish I had in the beginning .

Think twice before you buy!
I read a few mix reviews on this mixer, I am now finding that it is starting to be noisy on heavier mixes, I don’t think this is a fault but believe it’s the machine as too many people have said the same thing, I literally hold it down on a dough mix. The accessories are hard to come by!

Keeps the Wife HAPPY
WOW, did not know how much my wife wanted one until it arrived. She always made bread by hand and that was once in a blue moon. Now we don't buy bread from the store as we always have a fresh loaf made at home. So, GOOD!

Highly recommended quality mixer
This is an excellent quality mixer. I've made several cakes with it and a variety of batters and it has stepped up to each challenge with ease. The paddle attachments are easy to use and reach all parts of the bowl. The machine and all its components appear to made to a very high standard and when it's in action, you can be confident that it's going to do the job. I'm looking forward to making some bread for the first time so that I can use the kneading paddle and I'm tempted to get the pasta-making and meat mincing attachments too, I would highly recommend this product.

Well built, heavy!
I'll be honest, I haven't used an expensive mixer before (not something I could justify spending out for) so I can't compare with other models, or specify whether it's worth the cost. This does give the impression of being an expensive piece of equipment.. it looks and feels very solid, and it's heavy. The top part is heavy, but when lifted up, it still won't tip over.It comes with a whisk, 2 beaters and a dough hook, plus two different sized bowls. It has lots of speed settings, and gets very powerful.Basic whisking and beating has been fine, I may even attempt some dough soon, and will report back on how it deals with that!

WELL THOUGHT OUT AND GREAT TO USE
This is an incredibly beautiful looking machine, something you would be proud to have on display in your kitchen. It is very well made with a lovely matt black/dark grey finish. Personally, I think the lid could be a bit more robust, however it is very well designed as you can add other ingredients to the mixture whilst on the move as the opening unlike a lot of other mixers is very large. There are 10 speeds which are more than ample for most baking. I tend to use the middle setting the most which is about 5 or 6. The machine comes with attachments as follows: wire whip; coated flat beater, soft edge beater and coated dough hook. I made madeleines for the first time using the soft edge beater and the end result was perfect. I will be making Christmas puddings using the coated flat beater as this is ideal for recipes using dry fruits.A lot of thought has gone into this machine for example when you have made your bread dough with the included hook, you can cover it up with the included plastic lid (make sure you put it on correctly i.e. with the AEG logo facing upwards) which fits either of the two included bowls. This plastic cover called ‘PerfectRise Lid keeps the dough from drying out and helps it to rise. You can buy other attachments such as a Slice/Shredder or a Meat Grinder. The included instruction booklet lists the components of the machine and also includes 2 or 3 recipes. I found this quite useful as it gives guidance at to which attachment to use according to the type of mix.I was able to use this machine straight out of the box with no adjustment needed. However, the height of the attachment shaft can be altered. I also liked the fact that the power cord wasn’t short but a reasonable length – it does not retract back into the machine but I didn’t find that a problem.Summing up this is a fantastic machine, a pleasure to use as well designed and powerful with up to 10 speeds. It looks expensive, and gives good results. One drawback, it can be noisy at times. A quality product, I love it
