WARNING- Not compatible with all versions of Aero garden.
BEWARE- This item emptied the reservoir of my aero garden extra LED onto my apartment's floor.I live on the second story and there were some problems... The description of this item says it fits all versions of the aero garden, this is incorrect. I got this for my "extra LED aero garden" and the fit was imperfect because of the little plastic half tube that dispenses the water to each individual pod. I went ahead and used them anyway because I was eager to start my seeds and came home to a nightmare. It doesn't take much water to do a lot of expensive damage. It turns out, the problem occurred because the baskets are designed in such a way as to block the little half tube that slowly feeds water onto the root base. So once the pumps turned on the water was forced up and out.I can't describe how crappie my day has been because of these little baskets. Hopefully this review will save someone from ruining there day.

Save those extra tomato seedlings from Aerogarden pods.
For all you Aerogarden fans: Tomato seed kits usually have about three seeds per pod. That's so you'll get at least one good plant. If you get more than one, you are instructed to cut off all but one so they don't compete. But gee, what a waste. Cut the extras ( Make sure they're about three inches high. Then use this kit to grow the extra tomato plants. Put them as far into the water as possible. My experience is that they will first go a bit limp but then perk up as they develop roots. Tomatoes are particularly easy to clone. I don't know how well it works with other plants. You can wash the sponges with a tiny bit of soap in water. Let them soak a couple of days then rinse SEVERAL time with plain water, and maybe let them soak there, too.

Adequate
They work, and they're affordable. They don't fit my garden perfectly, but work quite adequately. I will likely try other materials of sponge and manufacturers of baskets, though, as I'm not blown away. On my garden, I had to gently press the edges of the sponge down until the entire sponge rested firmly against the bottom of the cage. This way, water would pool on top of the sponge and trickle down. Otherwise, water would run up the side of the basket and pump quite efficiently out of the reservoir and off the side of the garden.

Nope. Back to tried and true method.
I give it a 33% rating since that is the success I have had with cuttings. Can't use solution or powders on them because the cuttings are just in wateramd they just wash off. I had high hopes for this but the foam blocks have a significantly higher success rate.

These are exactly what I needed and they don't make them! These work great! Fit great! Actually are a better quality than the white ones that come with it. Highly recommend...

basket(s) cause leaks - but the sponges work...
Basket(s) do not fit on either of my Aerogarden 7's (I tried it in more than on AG)sponges work as designed - but the basket(s) cause leaks where basket rests on AG Top.
