Very handy tool!
After my DIY laminate floating floor install, I had several uneven gaps at the ends and at 1 tricky transition. I tried to align intersecting room sections with a pull bar and hammer, but shifting an entire room floor was too hard on the edge.I was amazed at the leverage of this tool for both pushing and pulling. I was able to shift a 25-foot section of an installed floor to align the ends. Just make sure to use wall-spacers for the adjacent sections, or the whole floor will shift. After some experience, I appreciated the quick-release button and I was making adjustments very quickly. This tool saved me from choosing between living with visible gaps or re-installing 500 square feet of flooring!

Puts all other tools to shame
Similar flooring tools to this are far more expensive. This product works perfectly and as expected for significantly lower cost. Well worth the investment.

Better than I initially thought.
Great jack and does exactly what's needed. I've done about 3000 sq ft of hardwood over a handful of jobs with it so far without any problems.I took off a star because the instructions for this are lacking. I didn't even realize the black knob would release when pressed down as it's not mentioned anywhere. Yes it describes a "quick release" but it's not clear at all that it's done by pushing it down.I was trying to turn it at first and now I'm not sure why they allow it to turn at all as I can't figure out what function that serves.I'm also not sure how long it will last but considering the price vs the "quality" one that's over $200 I'm not too worried. I'll update this in a year or so if it lasts. If you're just DIYing a floor then this one time purchase will save you a lot of headaches.

Save your money, wore out before the first floor was finished.
The jack quit working before I completed my living room floor. I am a homeowner and bought this to do a floor in our house. The jack started turning hard and kept popping out of the pressure position. I took the jack apart and found under the release button that the steel screw is turning on aluminum threads inside the release housing. The threads within the housing are worn down or improperly sized, not able to keep the screw plunger from popping back. I was not able to find any warranty, customer support, or replacement parts for the Cutterex flooring jack. The tool is now junk without support and warranty. Buyer beware.

Good value
I install flooring on a daily basis. So far this is a great tool for the price. I can see how misuse could cause failure other reviews have mentioned. If it holds up well I will definitely be buying another

Only good for light duty work!
This tool doesn’t allow you to do the the job it was advertised for. I tried to compress the the flooring together, and the first two times it worked. Then after I moved over and tried to use it again, the internal gears stripped, and it released. It would not compress the floor boards with any sort of medium pressure. About the time that the floor boards come together, (closing the gaps) the gear strips and the arm slides back enough to not help. Not helping at this point, just wasting time. Don’t waste your money or time on this tool if you are installing hardwood flooring!

Invaluable tool for installing floors
This tool is a great purchase. I'm a GC and I install lots of flooring of varying types. I almost always find a few places this can be used. The ratchet that comes with it is junk but the tool is awesome.

This tool works slick
Takes a couple tries to get the hang of it but sure does work great. Boards are tight together, this is my first hardwood floor and it looks better than the “professionally “ laid floor on our main level

This thing would not work right from the box. Don't buy it.
This thing would not work right from the box. Don't buy it. It slips out of traction as soon as it feels resistance. 2000 ponds?? BS
