This is not even close to fitting a 3gen Taco. And it smells like cheap chemicals. The only way to make it work is to redrill holes. The plate covers the oil filter and would need to be removed for each oil change. I should have read the other reviews before buying but I was in a time crunch to get a skid plate. I requested a return, which the seller approved, but I have to pay shipping to return. Since shipping is almost $200, I’ll just sell it for scrap.

I didn’t actually buy my skid plate off of Amazon, but did want to provide a better review of the product.Many people are complaining about it not fitting and having to drill holes. It appears they were trying to use the same mounting locations as the OEM skid plate. I simply took about three measurements and figured out they were using the wrong holes (I didn’t have instructions either).What you actually have to do is remove the two support braces that the front OEM skid mounts to. Those holes line up perfectly and you’ll also notice the holes in the new plate are much larger, which makes sense when looking at the support brace bolts. Once the braces are gone it aligns and mounts up beautifully!!! It is now the structural member, which is fine because the thing is super heavy duty.Buy this skid plate, you won’t be disappointed. If you’re lucky, you can find one on FBM like I did.I hope this helps.

I’m gonna start off with the metal it is nice it is thick. It’s gonna take some work to bend but the front holes do not lineup. This is supposed to be for a 2016–2022 The holes on the truck are 14 on center and the ones that are on the skid plate are 18 1/2 on center. So I called customer care they said they would get a tec to me but after I was on hold for 15 minutes decided to hang up because I’m gonna stop wasting my time, leave my review and drill the holes myself. For what I paid for it and the havoc and time i have wasted was not worth it for me. But it looks cool though

This skid plate and company are trash. Absolutely no install instructions. none of the bolt holes line up. I called thier "tech support" and was told that they are trying to put together some instructions for installation but that there is "some dude" on YouTube has a really good video on installing. lmfao. I searched high and low all over YouTube and was not able to find any video of anybody installing this particular skid plate. Trash.

Got mine today and have the same issues that others are reporting. Front bolts do not line up. Has there been a fix for this yet?

Very disappointed, even more than that. To begin with I received the skid plate without any information so I contacted DV8 in California and as an answer, it has no information for the installation. Then, the hole for the drain plug for the engine oil is too small so I enlarged the hole to be able to make the oil changes properly. During installation, disappointment over disappointment, on the 6 holes for bolts only 2 were in the right place(two from middle) The two to the transmission that installs on the cross member are offset 3/4" to the right. For the two in front, it has only one hole that is in the right place the other 1'' too inward. In addition, the plate is not folded enough to join the crossbar under the bumper (2'' to low). It is a beautiful flat skid with a beautiful finish but that does not do anything on my Tacoma 2021. If the equipment DV8 makes has the same result I had with the one I have,So there must be a lot of complaint and feedback. I do not recommend this product. This is the first time I order a DV8 product and this is the last time. It's frustrating for the price it costs.
