Lenox851746 Opal Innocence Carved 16-Piece Dinnerware Set

The package came from a non-Amazon source and was sold via Amazon. It was an amazing deal so with some trepidation I ordered. I was surpsied and delighted with they showed up will packed and unbroken. I have been back several times to see if that seller has more they want to unload but so far no luck.I chose this brand (Lenox) because I found them via a website that only posts American made products. The Lenox website even says "American by Design". I picked out my pattern and ordered it and when it got to my house was very, very dissapointed to see they are actually only "American by Designed". They are made in China.I don't want to send them back at this point, so aside from completing a 4 person place setting, I will not be ordering any more of the matching items from this company. Scrolling leaf-work is so common these days that I can easily buy actual American crafted items from other vendors to create a full and beautiful casual dining table setting. I lived, got burned, and learned on this one.They do fine in a dishwasher. I was so worried that they might break if they touched each other during washing that I was super careful at first to space them way away from other dishes. I don't do that anymore. They are fine. No chips or scratches and I have eaten off them several times. The cup also does not appear to easily stain with tea or coffee tannins. Any ring they get rubs right off with fingertips during hand washing.As for the headline: I did not think about this when I first ordered them, but the dinner plate is actually too large to lay down in my cabinet and for the door to fully close without hitting the rim. While I could have found some other place to store this plate I just decided to put up two strips of foam mounting squares where the plate touches the back of the cabinet and where the door touches the plate. These, coupled with carefully closing the door, have worked to protect the plate from damage while still letting it live with the rest of my dishes. The cabinet door does not fully *click* close and can open on its own if you close the adjacent door too fast, but this is so normal now it's nothing to just tap it back shut.Overall I am pleased with this set. It's beautiful and sturdy. I will buy enough of these place settings to feed four during casual dining, but for the rest of the serving pieces and stemware, I will find an American company to support. I believe in supporting American industry and labor so long as that industry is producing items that are wanted, needed, cost-effective, and durable.

This cream pitcher was in a box with a set of four place settings. There was no filler to protect the small creamer. The box it was in was crushed. The cream pitcher survived the rough ride with no damage. It must be very durable china! I do love the pattern and the quality.

Beautiful and functional

This tureen with plain white color was what I was looking for. My place setting is already very colorful and intricate, and I don't want my serving utensils to fight for attention away from them. This plain white tureen is the perfect background for an intricate and colorful place setting as it highlights them and at the same time elevate the whole tablescape. The artful embossed design is actually deep and it amazes me how this beautiful pattern was carved in the tureen. The ladle is a scene stealer.

I was looking for a large oval Platter for serving large dishes, such as a roasted turkey.I must have looked at 100 different platters before i settled on this one. When i started, I did not think I would want an unpainted platter, but I finally settled on this one, and I am so glad I did.This platter is the perfect size for that Thanksgiving turkey, yet the fact that it is not painted with Fall colors means it is appropriate to use in any occasion.While it may not be colorful, this platter is far from plain. Vine, leaf, and berry scroll around the platter edge gives this platter an elegant look that will go well with any banquet I put on. This porcelain platter is simply beautiful.When I clean it, I use soap and warm water, and it cleans up fairly easily. The description says it is dishwasher safe, but my dishwasher is small, and I do not think I would want to risk it anyway.

Ive been wanting this bowl for a while but it is definitely not cheap. But I decided to treat myself, and got it. That said, I absolutely love this sugar bowl. It's so adorable, but by no means tiny. Personally I think this is the perfect size for a sugar bowl, it holds a little less than 2 cups of sugar. The lid fits perfectly on the pot and makes a pleasant chime when you take it off the top of the bowl. It's very light, so it won't feel like a workout when you're passing it around the table.

Llegó muy bien empaquetada. Se luce en cada una de las reuniones familiares. Excelente.
