Not suited for protection OVER carpet compared to FloorMuffler LVT Ultra Seal Underlayment
We bought the WHITE FloorMuffler LVT Ultra Seal Underlayment underlayment in October to use over low-pile berber carpet to protect it from our old dog's many "accidents" (of both kinds). It worked fairly well until now, despite the fact that it isn't really intended for our purpose. So we decided to try the GREEN Floor Muffler UltraSeal Underlayment to blend more with our carpet color, hoping it was the same type and might last longer. It is NOT!Though both products say they are 2mm thick, the green one is thicker and much more like foam. It arrived rolled up, as did the white, but had many creases when unrolled.Thinking the creases would go away, we "installed" it over the carpet, fastening it down with Sugarman Industrial Strength double stick tape, which had worked rather well for awhile with the white underlayment.Putting the green underlayment down was MUCH more difficult, as it wouldn't lay flat and kept shifting around as we laid down the different sections (like runners). We finally got it to an acceptable point, but this morning woke up to find it had all shifted and was full of buckles. It's obviously not going to work, so we wasted $100 on two rolls, and will now have to spend another $100 to get the white underlayment again, or try to find something else. It's NOT Floor Muffler's fault of course, but we wanted to caution others looking for something to use for the same purpose. Good luck!

Good quality product
Yes this is the same product that Home Depot carries. Only difference is the color and dimension of the roll. I purchased one roll to compare the two side by side. Has significantly dampened the hollow sound on our second story. I didn’t give it a 5 just because it’s extremely easy to rip the foam if you need to walk on it while installing.

Pretty good stuff. Seems to be working well under Smart Core flooring on top of wood.

Your choices do not relate to the product, thickness has nothing to do with its' quality, there is no adhesion. However, the product does what it is intended to do, deaden the sound of walking on a floor that is NOT tile or real wood

" Fairly easy to put down also
Used this in two of my bedrooms under laminate flooring (pergo) and engineered hardwood. Both are very quiet and don't seem to be too hollow or "clicky." Fairly easy to put down also.

Thumbs up and moisture and sound down
Underlayment is strong and dampens sounds and keeps floor from ground moisture
