The Pampered Chef New Traditions Deep Dish Pie Plate - Vanilla

This is the best pie dish ever. I usually use it to make my Amish apple strudel pie. This pie used to be made in a brown paper bag until the bags started being made from recycled materials. Since then, only this dish works properly. This pie is a favorite for my family on all major holidays. I am not sure I could get them out of my house at the end of the day if I did not bring out the pie.I am so grateful to have been able to replace my original Pampered Chef New Traditions Deep Dish Pie Plate. You can not imagine how many places I looked for it before I found it here, of course.

I am a serious pie maker and love this dish, but seriously they charged me full price for a obviously used pie dish!!! It took me 20 minutes to scrub the grease off the plate! Bad form!!

I use this frequently for casseroles, brownies, artisan bread, cornbread and sweet breakfast batter breads. But also use it for cobblers and of course, pies. I also pre-heat it and use as a bread basket to keep the bread warm on the dinner table. Stone retains heat, so casserole stays warm longer. Once you bake with a stone, you never go back. Perfectly even baking. No dry, overcooked corners or soggy bottoms. Perfect (6 cup volume) size. Slanted sides make serving easier than straight sided casseroles. Handles are a nice bonus. And...No, I don't sell the stuff. This deep dish pie plate, the 9x9 square and the large "bar pan" stone are used frequently in my kitchen. Hand wash only, which I thought would be a drawback. But once it is seasoned(used several times), is easy to clean and it's stellar performance warrants the hand washing.
