Stuff works!!!! Tried Fish Oil supplements years ago - got the gross after burps of fish - nasty - gave up on the idea and lived with the high Triglycerides. My Dr wanted me to get the cholesterol and tri down - the Krill oil gives no fishy taste going down and no after burp fish taste either. Others complained of the fishy smell from the bottle - just kept my nose out of it and it didn't bother me at all. The gelcap has some flavoring to it but is pleasant - not at all fishy. Results for me after 60 days of use were awesome. Total Cholesterol went from 206 to 174, Triglycerides 272 down to 198, HDL 37 down to 36, LDL 115 to 98, Ratio 5.6 down to 4.8 (Dr wanted me at 4.5 but with no other risk factors he said this was ok), and non-HDL 169 down to 138. Very satisfied with the results and the product. Already ordered 2 more bottles to keep going.

Received this today in a bubble envelope... box was crushed, but bottle intact. Thanks, Amazon! Better than a huge box with tons of air pillows for a single bottle of vitamins. Box is going to be tossed anyway, so that is not the reason for the -1 star. The deduction of one star is because THE PILL IS FREAKIN' HUGE (see pic) It is at least 1/3 larger than the picture on the front of the box. I mean, really!!?! That is a huge miscalculation if the manufacturer is depicting the pill as actual size. I don't think I would purchase this one next time - I'll suffer through the rest of this bottle, but I would rather take two small pills than snarf down this horse pill.

My bloodwork results came today. Krill oil 1000mg works !!! My triglycerides have been elevated for many years. And of course, my physicianwas always concerned. I started Mega Red Krill Oil about 2 months ago. My triglycerides were 259 --now--150 ! Normal! Total cholesterolwas 192--now--162. LDL was 120--now--90. I am thrilled! My yearly physical is next week and my dr will be so happy ! Yes, the softgel is a bit large, but it is very easy to swallow. No fishy after-taste. However, there is a slight fishy odor when in the jar. But I promise, no fishy burps. That was my issue with fish oil. I must also add that in addition to the Krill Oil I do take Metamucil . "They" say it helps with cholesterol and I believethey are right!

Sure it's great for your heart and arteries but this stuff really helps me think clearly as well. I can tell the days where I forget to take it that my mind feels like it is in a fog and I am no where near as productive as I normally am while taking it. Yes the 1000mg pills are a bit large. I have not noticed any kind of negative (or any other kind for that matter) smells or tastes that are often associated with fish oils. There is a slightly sweet taste right upon swallowing but it doesn't last more than a second or two, my guess it's from the capsule itself and not the contents. The only thing I wish about this product was that the price were a little lower, it gets kind of expensive for two people to take on a regular basis.

I have been taking these for several years now. The 1000 mg capsules provide me with enough to combat my life-long struggle with high cholesterol. I combine these with a daily Red Rice Yeast tablet and dropped by bad cholesterol 37 point in 8 months. They do not break up in your stomach so you don't get 'fishy burps'. The only down side is ridged fingernails, but that is not the products fault.I though I was buying these smartly at Sam's Club until I realized that I was buying half the strength (500 mg) for the same money. Amazon has a great price. I wish they would add it to their Subscribe and Save program.

MegaRed Ultra Strength Omega 3 Krill Oil 1000mg Supplement, 30 Count The product is great but the expiration on the 4 boxes shipped is 01-2016. That is not very fresh. To be fair that will last Oct, Nov, Dec 2015 and Jan 2016.Furthermore the coupons in the box expired in March 2014. That means this product was probably manufactured more than 1 1/2 years ago.Of course everyone wants a fresh product and the order is fulfilled by MegaRed, the manufacturer, and it is expected they have the freshest supply available.MegaRed, please pay attention. You are in the best position and have the most control over the product you ship.

I've been taking this for about 2 years. No fishy taste, no burps, just wish they were smaller for this ULTRA-strength. Smaller size has less . . . strength. Schiff is a reliable U.S. company -- I also take their MOVE FREE for joint care. Does it really work? Works for me -- my much younger MD and her husband take these. I'm a well person -- I don't ache or creak, and I do what it takes to stay that way. Costs about $50 a month for this and MoveFree. I get a good report from my MD twice a year. Lucky me!!!

Horse pill - the "actual size" picture on the box is NOT actual size. This horse pill is 1" long and 5/16" in diameter. They do have a smell but its not fishy, kinda like a light chemical smell - not off-putting. Been taking it for a week now and so far no negative effects that I know of. Everything I have read though points to needing >250mg of EPA+DHA. Well this mongo pill has 188mg. I guess going from almost nothing to 188 is better than nothing. I'm going to shop around - I'd rather take several small pills before one huge pill.
